During a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday, President Donald Trump made some rather shocking statements regarding the American press.

When asked about NBC's recent reporting about the president's want to increase the U.S.'s nuclear arms supply, Trump launched into his attack.

“I never talked about increasing it,” Trump said, adding “that was fake news by NBC.”

“And it's frankly disgusting the press is able to write whatever they want to write, and people should look into it,” the president added before returning to the issue of the nuclear arms.

When asked another question regarding the press and his thoughts on the matter, Trump continued his assault on the media.

“The press should speak more honestly,” he said.

“When they make up stories like [the nuclear arms story], that's just made up, and the generals will tell you that. And then they have their sources that don't exist, in my opinion. They don't exist,” Trump posited. “They make up the sources. There are no sources.”
