Texas church shooting

Just after the worst mass shooting in Texas's history on Sunday, Democratic members of Congress took to Twitter to call for Congressional action:

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), a champion of gun control who called for legislation after the deadliest mass shooting in modern history, was notably apolitical in the immediate aftermath:

In an official statement, however, Murphy asked his colleagues “whether the political support of the gun industry is worth the blood that flows endlessly.”

Others expressed sorrow and offered their prayers:

As Independent Journal Review previously reported, a gunman opened fire on dozens of people at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, during a service on Sunday. The gunman later died after trying to escape from police. At least 26 people died.
