Since President Donald Trump took office, attempts have been made to prove his campaign colluded with the Russian government to skew the election in his favor.
On Saturday, while he answered questions from reporters at Camp David, Trump addressed the issue of collusion.
“After a year of study, there's been absolutely no collusion,” he told reporters. “There has been no collusion between us and the Russians.”
While he said his side is guilt-free when it comes to the issue of collusion, he noted that former Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton is not.
“Now, there has been collusion between Hillary Clinton, the DNC, and the Russians,” Trump explained and then took a jab at the press.
“Unfortunately, you people don't cover that very much,” he said. “The only collusion is between Hillary and the Russians and the DNC and the Russians.”
Trump later explained he would be open to speaking with former FBI Director Robert Mueller's committee because he has nothing to hide.
“There's been no collusion; there's been no crime,” he repeated. “When you've done nothing wrong, let's be open and get it over with.”
He added he could have been difficult and closed off but that it would have prolonged investigations for years, and for the sake of the country, he has cooperated fully.
“It's very, very bad for our country,” Trump told reporters. “It's making our country look very foolish, and this is a country I don't want looking foolish.”
