Ahead of Sunday night's Golden Globe Awards, attendees gathered on the red carpet to chat and appear for the media. Many dressed in black to bring light to the issue of sexual abuse and the wage disparity between men and women.
At one point, things got a bit awkward, as Debra Messing was interviewed by Giuliana Rancic of E! News. She explained she was wearing black "to thank and honor all of the brave whistleblowers who came forward and shared their stories of harassment and assault and discrimination.”
Seconds later, she took aim at E!, even though it was the network airing the interview. She said:
“I was so shocked to hear that E! doesn't believe in paying their female co-hosts the same as their male co-hosts. I mean, I miss Catt Sadler, so we stand with her, and that's something that can change tomorrow.”
But there was one moment that really stuck out on the red carpet, and it was more pure than anything.
Kelly Clarkson was walking down the stairs after finishing an interview with Ryan Seacrest when she spotted Meryl Streep. She was shocked and immediately called to her asking, “Can I meet you?”
She got so excited that Seacrest thought she had an accident or had tripped on the stairs.
