The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that President Donald Trump's lawyer, Michael Cohen, paid $130,000 to a former adult film actress a month before the 2016 election.

The payment was reportedly made to Stephanie Clifford, aka Stormy Daniels, in exchange for her silence about a sexual encounter that allegedly took place in 2006 while he was married to First Lady Melania Trump.

A White House official called the report “old” and “recycled,” and Cohen shared a signed statement by Clifford that said that “rumors that I have received hush money from Donald Trump are completely false.”

During an interview with the Daily Beast, adult film actress Alana Evans said that in 2006, she ran into Clifford, who explained that she met Trump, who wanted to hang out with her that night.

"Stormy said Donald knew exactly who she was and wanted to meet her,” Evans told the Daily Beast.

Clifford allegedly invited Evans to the party with Trump, and at one point, the future president got on the phone and urged her to join, but she declined the offer.

“Men like him scare me because they have so much power and this was way before his presidential nomination,” Evans explained. "So I bailed on them and turned my phone off.”

The next day, she spoke to Clifford and asked how her night went, which she relayed to the Daily Beast: “She tells me, 'All I’m going to say is: I ended up with Donald in his hotel room. Picture him chasing me around his hotel room in his tighty-whities.'”

Clifford added that Trump allegedly offered her keys to his condos in Florida. After Evans told her friend, “wow guess you had a good night,” the two never spoke of the encounter again.
