As the fallout from Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf's decision to warn illegal immigrants of an upcoming raid by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement continues, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) stated she “100 percent” supports Schaaf's actions.
“I think Mayor Schaaf is doing exactly what's in the best interest of her community, and I support that 100 percent,” Harris told reporters Friday.

She also blasted Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his speech on how it was wrong for California to have a sanctuary state policy:
It’s clear this Administration has put a target on California’s back. The Department of Justice should be spending resources on real public safety issues, not political stunts. https://t.co/VgQTRA0Yyv

Schaff also pushed back on Sessions' speech: “How dare you vilify members of our community by trying to frighten the American public into thinking all undocumented residents are dangerous criminals. How dare you distort the reality about declining violent crime in a diverse sanctuary city like Oakland, California, to advance your racist agenda.”
