David Hogg Thanks the NRA — But His Message Is Dripping With Sarcasm

Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg tweeted a dubious message of gratitude toward the National Rifle Association (NRA) on Friday.

His snarky message came after the NRA told its Twitter followers to send it pictures of themselves in orange hunting gear:

And some people responded with just that:

Orange also happened to be the color Hogg and others used to promote gun control.

Hogg also retweeted someone attacking the NRA for trying to “hijack” a campaign focused on gun violence:

The NRA noted that hunters had been using the color long before the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School this past February:

Hogg and his fellow Parkland students have continually pushed for gun control since the shooting and even started their own organization for that purpose.

And according to recent reports, Hogg will get some help from Parkland parents who want to “remove the NRA from our political system.” The group, called Families vs Assault Rifles PAC, sought to challenge NRA-backed candidates and push a gun control agenda like the students'.
