President Donald Trump lashed out at “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon on Twitter on Sunday following a recent interview where Fallon claimed that ruffling the president's hair was a “mistake.”
Trump sent out a tweet attacking Fallon for saying he regretted the way he treated Trump on his show during the presidential campaign in 2016.
Watch the interview below:
The president claimed that Fallon was “whimpering” about the reaction to the “hair show” and told him to “be a man”:
.@jimmyfallon is now whimpering to all that he did the famous “hair show” with me (where he seriously messed up my hair), & that he would have now done it differently because it is said to have “humanized” me-he is taking heat. He called & said “monster ratings.” Be a man Jimmy!

The host responded to the tweet less than three hours later, saying that he was going to donate to the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) “in honor of the President’s tweet”:
In honor of the President’s tweet I’ll be making a donation to RAICES in his name.

Fallon's interview on the “Awards Chatter” podcast ended with the late-night host saying he wouldn't repeat his actions if he could go back and do it again. Fallon also refuted the claim that he “ruffled” the then-presidential candidate's hair in order to normalize him.
“I did not do it to 'normalize' him or to say I believe in his political beliefs or any of that stuff,” Fallon said.
He also reflected on the immediate backlash of his controversial 2016 interview. He said that he became “depressed” after.
“I saw other comedians from other shows making fun of me on Twitter, and I go, 'OK, now I'm just gonna get off,'” Fallon said.
Fallon finished out the interview by saying he was “one of the good people" and implored people to "calm down" and "see [his] body of work.”
