President Donald Trump is warning Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden against declaring victory prematurely.

“Joe Biden should not wrongfully claim the office of the President. I could make that claim also. Legal proceedings are just now beginning!” Trump wrote on Twitter Friday.

Trump’s advice to Biden comes just days after he falsely claimed he won the race on Wednesday, as IJR previously reported.

“We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election. This is a major fraud on our nation. We want the law to be used in a proper manner,” Trump said.

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany issued a tweet on Wednesday to declare Trump won Pennsylvania.

“VICTORY for President Donald Trump in PENNSYLVANIA,” she tweeted.

Twitter added a flag to her tweet, “Official sources may not have called the race when this was Tweeted.”

Eric Trump also tweeted, “We have won Pennsylvania!”

Biden has been careful to indicate he has won the election, as IJR previously reported.

“Now, after a long night of counting, it’s clear that we’re winning enough states to reach 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency,” Biden said while delivering remarks Wednesday.

He added, “I’m not here to declare that we’ve won. But I am here to report when the count is finished we believe we will be the winners.”

Others also feel confident Biden is on the verge of victory, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

“I am so officially pleased with the outcome that is imminent and also personally delighted because of the quality and caliber of leadership that Joe Biden will provide. This morning it is clear that the Biden-Harris ticket will win the White House,” Pelosi said during a press conference Friday.

As of Friday evening, the former vice president is just 17 electoral votes away from taking the presidency.
