Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.) tripped and fell in her hometown of San Francisco sending her to the hospital.

According to the New York Post, Feinstein suffered “no serious injuries” from the fall on Tuesday, but concerns over her health have been ongoing after she was hospitalized with shingles for months this past spring.

A spokesperson for Feinstein said, “Senator Feinstein briefly went to the hospital yesterday afternoon as a precaution after a minor fall in her home. All of her scans were clear and she returned home.”

Last month, Feinstein, 90, displayed confusion while casting a vote on a defense appropriations bill, as IJR reported on.

She began giving a speech on the bill, stating, “I would like to support a ‘yes’ vote on this. It provides $823 billion, that’s an increase of $26 billion for the Department of Defense. And it funds priorities submitted…”

Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) was overheard saying, “Just say aye.”

An aide walked over and told her the same as others chimed in. Feinstein said, “Aye,” and laughed.

Then Thursday, Feinstein gave over power of attorney, according to the New York Post. Her 66-year-old daughter, Katherine Feinstein will be handling her legal issues.

This has led to more concerns over Senator Feinstein’s ability to govern. She is the oldest sitting member of the Senate, and her continued health issues are a topic of interest.

Fox Across America host Jimmy Failla posted to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, stating, “Sad to hear Diane Feinstein fell and I hope she’s doing okay.”

Sad to hear Diane Feinstein fell and I hope she’s doing okay. Her staff needs to be extra careful because if she keeps falling in public the Democrats will make her President.

“Her staff needs to be extra careful because if she keeps falling in public the Democrats will make her President,” he added.

Political analyst Armstrong Williams joined the discussion. He wrote, “Feinstein and McConnell, our two eldest U.S. legislators, have had two bad gaffes over the past month – seemingly as a result of their old age.”

Of course, giving up power of attorney isn’t something reserved for the elderly, but the timing is certainly suspect.

He then asked, “Do you think we need age limits of members of Congress?”
