Former President Donald Trump offered a wave to migrants in Mexico.
During his trip to the border, Trump was seen looking across the Rio Grande from behind a fence on the U.S. side of the border, accompanied by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R).
Soon shouts of “Trump” were heard from across the river.
The former president was then seen waving and giving fist bumps to people gathered on the bank of the Rio Grande who were reportedly migrants.
“They like Trump, can you believe it?” Trump said.

During remarks at the border, Trump, “The United States is being overrun by the Biden migrant crime.”
“[Biden is] destroying the country,” he added.
President Joe Biden also visited the border on Thursday and sent a message to Trump, saying, “Instead of playing politics with the issue, instead of telling members of Congress to block this legislation, join me.”
“Or I’ll join you in telling the Congress to pass this bipartisan border security bill,” he added.
The dueling visits come as immigration has become a major issue of the 2024 election as a reported 7.2 million migrants have crossed into the country under Biden’s watch, and with the murder of Laken Riley, a nursing student who was allegedly killed by an illegal immigrant from Venezuela who had been released from Border Patrol custody.
