Democrats already appear to know who they want to point the finger at if Vice President Kamala Harris loses in the presidential election.
If Harris loses, President Joe Biden may come under fire, according to Politico.
The outlet that Harris “took the reins too late. Already, most Democratic officials we’ve spoken to agree: If anyone should get the blame for a Trump win, it’s Biden. The president’s insistence on running again at age 81 — and taking weeks still to bow out following his abysmal debate performance — cost Harris precious time, they say.”
Harris had a viral moment on “The View” Oct. 8 where she was asked if she would have done something differently from Biden. She responded, “There is not a thing that comes to mind.”
As pointed out in Politico’s article, “Once Biden did pass the baton, Harris struggled to find ways to distance herself from Biden or explain how she would lead differently,” adding, “At some point, Democrats say, respect for Biden should have given way to a winning instinct.”
Other reasons listed to potentially blame if Harris loses would be that she picked the wrong running mate, she did not move toward the center enough, and “she was too fond of the ‘F’ word,” per the outlet.
Meanwhile, the outlet suggested if former President Trump were to lose the election, it would be because “Trump couldn’t help being Trump,” he chose the wrong running mate, “He repelled women — again and again,” “He let the inmates run the asylum.”
As previously reported by Axios, a growing number of top Democrats believe Vice President Kamala Harris “will lose.”
The polls are tight heading into Election Day. FiveThirtyEight’s national polling average has Harris at 47.9% and Trump at 47.0%, as of Sunday.
