A photo of George W. Bush and First Lady Michelle Obama warmly embracing went viral over the weekend.
This was due, in part, to the hyper-partisan political atmosphere of the day. The act of humanity between two people of different political worldviews was refreshing for those sharing it on social media, but a quick review of history will show that it certainly was not the first time W. and Michelle have been snuggly with each other.
The Bushes were gracious when then president-elect Barack Obama and his wife Michelle first visited the White House in 2008.
Then on Inauguration Day, Bush embraced Michelle…
… with a smooch.
Laura got some, too.
Bush was also hamming it up with the girls.
And he got a big Obama hug before leaving Washington, D.C.
Bush got a full embrace during a portrait unveiling ceremony at the White House in 2010.
At the 50th Anniversary of the Selma civil rights marches, Bush and Michelle started telling secrets.
Michelle got another kiss from Bush during a memorial service for the victims of the Dallas police shooting in July.
Michelle was there for an emotional Bush.
It was touching.
At the dedication of the National Museum of African American History, Bush got his warm fuzzy.
And Obama stuck his tongue out at him.
But W. was not the only Bush to get some love from Michelle.
