A Florida University Org Forms ‘Leftist Fight Club,’ The Group of Students They Shun is Damning

It’s been no secret that college students around America have been taking President Donald Trump’s election victory pretty hard.

But one socialist group on campus recently took its “fear” of a Trump administration to a different level.

“Knights for Socialism,” a student organization at the University of Central Florida (UCF), hosted a self-defense workshop on Super Bowl Sunday in an effort to “Bash the Fash,” according to news outlet Campus Reform.

The group told attendees on Facebook that the boxing class is necessary because of the current state of America, specifically “the rise of Donald Trump and other Alt-Right Neo-Nazis”:

On the Facebook event page the organizers wrote:

“In response to the record number of hate crimes against Latinxs, Immigrants, Muslims, Women, the LGBTQIA+ community, Jews, African Americans and other minorities since the rise of Donald Trump and other Alt-Right Neo-Nazis.

Knights for Socialism has decided to host a series of self-defense clinics for anyone that wants to learn how to BASH THE FASH.”

The group also made an appeal to feminists on campus as well by stating that President Trump is a “sexual predator and rapist”:

“*Ladies: The Commander in thief is a sexual predator and rapist. He has normalised [sic] sexual assault and it is expected that sexual violence against women is going to skyrocket in the next 12 months. Please join us!”

Toward the end of the event description, Knights for Socialism revealed that the boxing clinic, taught by a local amateur boxer, is meant for “everyone and anyone, EXCEPT REPUBLICANS.”

Spencer Kovach, a UCF student who attended the workshop, took some pictures of the event and provided them to Independent Journal Review. Kovach is the president of a libertarian group on campus which is a chapter of Young Americans for Liberty (YAL).

Cade Marsh, the State Chairman of the Florida Federation of College Republicans, talked to IJR about the socialist group’s workshop.

“I think it’s a small but telling example of the left’s continued, deepened, intellectual isolationism. Branding everything GOP as bigoted or misogynistic is the first step to creating an ideological dictatorship.”

He continued:

“The fact that the club is advocating for tongue in cheek violence against Republicans while spreading slander about what is quite literally my strongest, best behaved CR chapter is a whole other matter entirely…”

Campus Reform reports that a concerned student alerted a staff member at the University of Central Florida about the event. The employee told the student that they will be “looking into this further.”

Knights for Socialism also has a “Whack-a-Trump” Piñata event scheduled later on this week.
