After Bill Maher Takes Credit for Milo’s Downfall, a Video From His Past Emerges — Instant Karma

HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher got plenty of heat for booking controversial provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos on his show, but he’s now taking credit for the right-wing personality’s abrupt professional downfall.

Maher defended the decision to host Yiannopoulos, telling The New York Times that “sunlight is the best disinfectant.”

“You’re welcome,” he added.

In roughly 24 hours, Yiannopoulos was disinvited from speaking at CPAC, lost his lucrative book deal, and resigned from Breitbart News. The sudden professional turmoil resulted after a video emerged showing Yiannopoulos making light of pedophilia.

“We get hung up on this child abuse stuff, to the point where we are heavily policing relationships between consenting adults,” he says in the video.

Yiannopoulos apologized for some of the comments during a Tuesday press conference but also insisted the media misreported some of his remarks.

Now that you’re all caught up, Maher’s critics have since dug through the liberal comedian’s video archives and found a controversial video concerning a sexual relationship between a 35-year-old teacher and a 14-year-old boy.

“The teacher from Seattle who is in jail because she is in love — that’s how I view it,” Maher says in the old clip. “I admit that it’s unorthodox. She’s 35, the boy is 14 — he was younger when they started.”

Maher went on to say that the teacher was pregnant with her second child and the couple was trying to “have a family.”

“They are keeping the mother in jail because she won’t conform to what society feels should be the perfect American family,” he added.

When an activist alleged the 35-year-old woman “raped” the young boy, Maher replied, “Raped? Come on.”
