California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) embarked on his four-day trip to El Salvador on Sunday to counter the president’s promise to cut aid to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras — but an angel dad isn’t having it with the “disgusting” Democratic governor’s “political stunt.”
“Right now you have a president that talks down to people, talks past them, demoralizing folks living here and their relatives in the United States,” Newsom told reporters during his visit, according to the Washington Times. “I think it’s important to let folks know that’s not our country – that’s an individual in our country who happens at this moment to be president.”
The Democratic governor chose El Salvador for his first international visit because of his state being the home of the largest Salvadoran immigrant population in the U.S., according to Fox News.

Appearing on “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday, angel father Don Rosenberg, whose son who was killed by an illegal immigrant driver, spoke up about Newsom’s visit and swipe at Trump, calling out the California governor for actually helping illegal immigrants in his state.
When asked about seeing his governor in El Salvador, Rosenberg, said: “It’s a political stunt.”
“Newsom is one of the three people that I consider directly related to my son’s death. He was the mayor of San Fransisco when my son was killed and it was his policy a year before, that if you’re in the country illegally, you can drive in San Fransisco without a license, … they just dropped the charges, let him go, he continued to drive, until he killed my son.”
“Newsom, he’s ignoring his own state, worrying about everything else,” Rosenberg said, noting he thinks Newsom is “posturing” for a 2024 presidential run. “It’s disgusting,” he added.
Rosenberg, a life-long Democrat, blasted Democrats for not responding to the victims killed by immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally.
When asked if he believes the U.S. immigration policies let him down, Rosenberg responded, “They betrayed us.”
“Almost every legislator in California has put illegal aliens ahead of American citizens,” he said. “And the results are a lot of crime and a lot of death.”

Gov. Newsom is a frequent critic of Trump, especially when it comes to immigration, as he previously blasted the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border as a manufactured crisis and promised to sue the president’s border national emergency declaration, as IJR Blue reported.
Additionally, the Democratic governor promised to give $25 million to aid asylum seekers who are in his state illegally.
