Former White House aide Anthony Scaramucci has been one of President Donald Trump‘s fiercest critics over the past year and he’s doubled down on his attacks after the news that Trump urged the Ukrainian president to investigate Joe Biden.
In a Thursday tweet, Scaramucci blasted Trump, saying that Trump realizes that his mistake was simply “the failure to normalize the traitorous behavior by doing it out in the open (like he has in the past).” He added that “China and Russia are laughing as [Trump] destroys U.S. soft power around the world.”
in a follow-up tweet, Scaramucci hypothesized, “If [Trump] instead had a press conference and said ‘Ukraine, if you’re listening, investigate Hunter Biden or I’m withholding your aid,’ the current situation would be framed much differently.”
The former White House Communications Director added, “I missed it for too long. We cannot normalize treason.”

This is hardly the first time that Scaramucci has criticized Trump, but he seems to finally be making a serious effort to dethrone the Oval Office occupant. A source with knowledge told IJR that the Mooch donated to Joe Walsh‘s campaign in recent weeks — Walsh is running as a Republican against Donald Trump.
Scaramucci told Reuters in September that he would raise money against Trump, saying, “Think like a patriot. We have to remove him from power.” A few days later, Scaramucci said that Trump is “intimidated” by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The ousted White House communications director is hardly the first former 1600 Penn insider to turn on his former boss. Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Chief of Staff John Kelly have both criticized the president and Trump has fired off insults at each of them. Last month, Trump accused Scaramucci of being “just another disgruntled former employee who got fired for gross incompetence!”
