AOC Defends Sri Lanka Response to Conway: ‘Are You Trying to Imply That I’m Less Christian?’

Counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway made an off-hand remark about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and questioned her response to the Sri Lanka terror attack while answering an unrelated question about President Donald Trump’s response to the Unite the Right march in Charlottesville, Virginia.

“I see officials who get a lot of air time and ink like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, congresswoman, who tweets many times about the mosque and never once about the Christians being killed in Sri Lanka,” Conway said on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday morning, the “mosque” referring to the deadly terror attacks on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand last month.

Watch the video below:

Conway’s swipe at the New York congresswoman didn’t go unnoticed and Conway was called out by one now-deleted Twitter user.

“I was referring to [Ocasio-Cortez’s] silence about the Sri Lanka massacre of Christians (not ‘Easter Worshippers’ as Obama and Hillary oddly said),” Conway explained.

Ocasio-Cortez responded promptly, explaining that she was unplugged on Easter while visiting her grandmother in Puerto Rico.

“Are you trying to imply that I am less Christian?” she asked. “What was the point of you bringing this up on national TV?”

“The terrorist attack in Sri Lanka was horrifying,” Ocasio-Cortez continued on Twitter. “Saying ‘Easter worshippers’ matters [because] Easter is the holiest day of the year for Christians, & to be targeted on Easter highlights how heinous the attack was – just as saying yesterday’s #SanDiego shooting was on Passover.”

What do you think?

“Are you trying to imply that I am less Christian?”

I think that the very fact that AOC responded with this question/accusation can only be interpreted in one of two ways.

Either AOC doesn’t know what makes someone a Christian, or she knows and hopes you don’t and will fall for her outrageous accusation.

A more appropriate title might have “AOC’s lack of response or empathy for the victims”.

Even if she was “unplugged” it begs this question: if your grandmother is living in primitive squalor why don’t you move her here? You have the money, q.v. expensive new digs and clothing. Plus you’re a congressperson who can “expedite” these things.

“If you’re so moved, let’s do more to welcome immigrants fleeing religious persecution,” Ocasio-Cortez concluded.“. Hmmm, I wasn’t aware that any of the illegal immigrants on the southern border are fleeing religious persecution. Is México persecuting them for their beliefs? Perhaps if we solve that we could help those who ARE fleeing religious persecution.

I’ll take “Thin-skinned and an idiot” for $200. Who is AOC?

“Easter worshippers”? Because people celebrate Easter and what it represents? How stupid.

That means we can now use “Birthday worshippers” and “March Madness worshippers” freely, right Barry “Barry worshipper” and Hillary “Power worshipper”?
