FBI Director Kash Patel became enraged at Democratic California Rep. Eric Swalwell on Wednesday while facing questions on deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and alleged weaponization of government.
Epstein victims told NBC Newsâ Hallie Jackson on Sept. 3 that they had no awareness of President Donald Trump âdoing anything inappropriateâ in relation to the deceased pedophile. However, Swalwell repeatedly asked Patel at a House Judiciary Committee hearing whether he informed Attorney General Pam Bondi that Trump was in the Epstein files, prompting the FBI director to snap back.

âDid you tell the attorney general that Donald Trumpâs name is in the Epstein files? Yes or no?â Swalwell asked slowly.
âWhy donât you try spelling it out if youâre going to mock me? Use the alphabet,â Patel responded. âNo? A, B, C? D, E, F? Donât want to do it?â
Swalwell asserted it seemed as though Patel did not want to answer and repeated his question.
âWhy donât you try serving your constituency by focusing on reducing violent crime in this country and the number of pedophiles that are legally harbored in your sanctuary cities in California?â Patel asked. âIâll work with you on that. Do you want to work with us on that?â
Swalwell repeated his question once more.
âThe question has been asked and answered,â Patel said.
âYou have not answered it. And we will take your evasiveness as a consciousness of guilt,â Swalwell said.
Swalwell later asked Patel if he would recuse himself from investigations involving the people named in his book âGovernment Gangsters,â including himself.
âIâm going to borrow your terminology and call bullshit on your entire career in Congress,â Patel said, referencing Swalwell using the curse word earlier. âIt has been a disgrace to the American people.â
Patel eventually answered that he would not recuse himself from investigations involving those named in âGovernment Gangsters.â
Patel also told Republican Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy during a Tuesday Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that there was âno credible informationâ that Epstein trafficked women to other individuals.
âIf there were, I would bring the case yesterday that he trafficked to other individuals and the information we have, again, is limited,â Patel said.
Moreover, Epsteinâs former partner Ghislaine Maxwell told Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in July that she never witnessed Trump âin any inappropriate settingâ and that he had been a âgentleman in all respects.â
The Oversight Committee released over 33,000 pages of documents related to Epstein on Sept. 2 that they obtained from the DOJ.
