A House Republican is offering a suggestion for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumerâs (D-N.Y.) visit to Ukraine.
On Friday, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) shared an article about the New York Democratâs trip to show support for Ukraine, and to pressure the House to pass additional aid for the country.
âSend him to serve on the front lines,â Luna wrote.
Earlier this month, Lunaâs proposed âSenators Can Help Underpin Military Engagement and Readiness Actâ (SCHUMER Act) bill leaked to the press.
âTo whoever leaked my bill: Congratulations, you played yourself,â she wrote on X.
Luna added, âI make no apologies. My bill, the SCHUMER Act, would require Members of Congress to fight on the front lines in Ukraine if they support Schumerâs calls for American sons daughters to fight.â
The Daily Mail reported the legislation would ârequire Members of Congress who advocate for providing military support for Ukraine to enlist in the armed forces and to serve on active duty in support of a contingency operation.â
Lunaâs bill was in response to a warning made by Schumer.
During an appearance on MSNBC, Schumer warned lawmakers against rejecting the now-doomed immigration bill.
While the proposal was aimed at securing the U.S.-Mexico border. It also included $60 billion in more aid for Ukraine.
âIf we donât aid Ukraine, Putin will walk all over Ukraine. We will lose the war, and we could be fighting in Eastern Europe a NATO ally in a few years. Americans wonât like that,â Schumer said.
