President Joe Biden seemingly forgot the name of his defense secretary during an event at the White House.
“I want to thank the sec… the, the former general. I keep calling him general, but my, my… the guy who runs that outfit over there. I want to make sure we thank the secretary for all he’s done to try to implement what we just talked about,” Biden said on Monday night.

Biden nominated retired Army General Lloyd Austin to lead the Department of Defense in January, as IJR previously reported.
The president made the remarks during an event to highlight two female generals, Army Lt. Gen. Laura Richardson and Air Force Gen. Jacqueline D. Van Ovost, who were promoted to lead four-star combatant commands.
Austin announced their promotions on Saturday.
