Actress Charlize Theron scorched critics who oppose drag queen performers.
Theron, 47, appeared on the āDrag Isnāt Dangerousā fundraiser telethon last Sunday via a video shared on Twitter by the fan account Charlize Theron Daily. She, along with a few of her friends, vocalized their support for the drag queen community.
āWe love you, queens. Weāre in your corner and weāve got you, and I will fā anybody up whoās like trying to fā with anything with you guys,ā she boldly stated.
The Oscar winner explained drag queens should be the least of our worries when it comes to children.
āIn all seriousness, thereās so many things that are hurting and, really, killing our kids, and we all know what Iām talking about right now and it aināt no drag queen ā because if youāve everĀ seen a drag queen lip-syncĀ for her life, it only makes you happier, it only makes you love more, it makes you a better person,ā she continued.
Theron asked viewers to āsupport all the great organizations that are out thereā who are attempting to get rid of āall of these incredibly stupid policies.ā
āNo more room for hate, only love, andĀ love equals drag queens!ā she concluded.
On March 2, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee (R) signed a bill into law prohibiting an āadult cabaret performanceā in public or in a location where minors are present. Violation of this law could lead to criminal charges. It takes effect on July 1.
On March 8, RuPaul, host of āRuPaulās Drag Race,ā slammed lawmakers for their ban on drag queen shows.
āHey, look over there! A classic distraction technique, distracting us away from the real issues that they were voted into office to focus on: jobs, healthcare, keeping our children safe from harm at their own school. But we know that bullies are incompetent at solving real issues,ā he said in a video posted on his Instagram page.
