‘They’re Not Going to Apologize’: Chris Cuomo Calls Out Fox News Hosts for Controversial Comments

Chris Cuomo

CNN host Chris Cuomo isn’t surprised that two Fox News hosts are refusing to apologize for controversial comments that were made and resurfaced this week.

“Apologize? Are you kidding? They’re not going to apologize. Stop asking,” Cuomo said on his show Monday night, referencing Tucker Carlson and Jeanine Pirro.

“They want to press the divide. They want to attack what most want to protect,” he continued. “And ironically, you give them attention for doing something wrong, and they use that attention to say it more and, ironically, use your negative attention to play the victim.”

Pirro came under fire this week for making comments about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), insinuating she was more loyal to Sharia law than the Constitution because she wears a hijab.

Media Matters unearthed a number of Carlson interviews from before his Fox News days in which he made sexist and racist comments.

“Big boy will say, ‘The left is coming at me, it isn’t nice.’ At the same time, he would strip away the sensitivity toward those who are actually victimized,” Cuomo said, targeting Carlson.

“Hypocrisy often goes hand-in-hand with harshness,” he added. “Few bullies can withstand what they dish out to others.”

While Fox News issued an apology on behalf of Pirro this week, the network has not commented on the resurfaced comments made by Carlson.

“Fox News is behind us, as they have been since the very first day. Toughness is a rare quality in a TV network, and we are grateful for that,” Carlson said on his show Monday night.

“We’ve always apologized when we’re wrong, and we will continue to do that. That’s what decent people do, they apologize,” he added. “But we will never bow to the mob. Ever. No matter what.”

Carlson’s comments were made between 2006 and 2011 on the radio program “Bubba the Love Sponge.” He called women “c**ty” and “white whores” and appeared to defend a child rapist.

After Carlson refused to apologize, Media Matters published another compilation of interviews, this time of Carlson making racist statements, such as calling Iraq “a crappy place filled with a bunch of, you know, semiliterate primitive monkeys.”

Cuomo pointed out Monday that Carlson refused to address any of his statements directly.

“What a coward,” he said. “Why don’t you repeat what you said if it’s not such a big deal?”

Maybe Carlson should apologize – – – as soon as the Socialists apologize for the likes of Tlaib, Omar and Occasionally-Coherent being allowed to stink up the House, spew their childish stupidity and anti-Semitic blather. Consideration should be given to deporting ALL back to the sh**holes they came from.

Why would they voluntarily apologize when the extreme of crazy singles them out from the next wannabe TV “star” that wants to replace them and keeps them relevant to their cult?
