House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) is vowing to invite President Joe Biden to testify in Republicansā impeachment probe.
During a hearing on Wednesday on allegations of influence peddling by members of the Biden family, Comer said, āWhat we have here is a major discrepancy on what role Joe Biden played. We know that three former Biden associates say that Joe Biden was actively involved.ā
āBut we have Hunter Biden testifying under oath that his dad didnāt know,ā he continued.
Comer added, āSo in the coming days, I will invite President Biden to the Oversight Committee to provide his testimony and explain why his family received tens of millions of dollars from foreign companies with his assistance. We need to hear from the president himself.ā
Watch the video below:
Earlier in the hearing, Tony Bobulinski ā a former business partner of Hunter Biden ā testified that Joe Biden violated corruption and RICO laws, as well as FARA laws.
However, Democrats seized on his lack of ability to list a specific crime the president allegedly committed.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) insisted, āThereās no evidence at all that heās committed any high crime or misdemeanor.ā
āWhat is it?ā he asked.
Meanwhile, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) asked Republicans, āAt what point are you gonna fish or cut bait? So, I just have to tell you, itās over. Impeachment is over.ā
āI dare you to impeach, but you wonāt because you donāt have the evidence. And because you donāt have the evidence, you donāt have the votes. Guys, itās dead. And so, Iām here to pronounce the time of death: 5:16, impeachment is dead, 5:16, Biden impeachment is dead. Joe Biden has been acquitted,ā he added.
