Pure Class: Dan Crenshaw Takes the High Road in Response to SNL Mocking His Battle Wounds

Navy SEAL Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) reminded Americans what class looks like after Saturday Night Live performed a shameful skit mocking the veteran for wearing an eye patch.

Crenshaw lost his right eye after hitting an IED during his third deployment overseas. While that injury would have given him plenty of reasons to move toward military retirement, Crenshaw recovered from his injuries and completed two more deployments.

Today, Crenshaw is running for Congress in Texas’s second district.

In a shameful skit, SNL made fun of Crenshaw’s injuries, comparing him to an actor in a porno.

“Dan Crenshaw, no hold on. You may be surprised to hear he’s a congressional candidate from Texas and not a hitman in a porno movie. I’m sorry. I know he lost his eye in war or whatever.”

After his comments, several people, including Crenshaw’s opponent Todd Litton, expressed their outrage at the cruel joke. The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) demanded an apology.

“Getting dumped by your pop star girlfriend is no excuse for lashing out at a decorated war hero who lost his eye serving our country. Pete Davidson and NBC should immediately apologize to Dan, and to the millions of veterans and military families who tune in every weekend – because they’re not laughing.”

While many people came to Crenshaw’s defense, his response made it perfectly clear that he didn’t need anyone to come to his defense, instead delivering a blistering, yet classy response.

So far, both Pete Davidson and SNL have remained silent and have not issued any type of apology to the Crenshaw or the other service men and women they targeted with their comments.

But Crenshaw doesn’t seem to be the type of person who would sit around and wait for someone to issue an apology. After all, his campaign only has around 48 more hours until the polls close on Tuesday evening.
