“The Daily Show” personally invited President Donald Trump to its Washington, D.C., event with ads that aired on Fox News. The president probably won’t show up.

The Comedy Central political show is opening up a showroom a mere half-mile away from the White House that features Trump’s tweets in the style of a museum. “The Daily Show” hosted a similar event, named the Donald J. Trump Presidential Twitter Library, last year that featured exhibits on deleted tweets, Trump’s nicknames for his political opponents, and a golden toilet.

“Hello, Mr. President. Your birthday is coming up, and you deserve to celebrate with those you love the most: your tweets,” the ad that aired on “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday morning began.

“Come relive some of your most presidential tweets, including ‘covfefe,’ ‘Stormy Daniels is a horseface,’ and ‘Are you allowed to impeach a president for gross incompetence?'”

“Daily Show” correspondent Desi Lydic concluded the ad by saying she hoped the president, “a true man of characters”, would be there.

Last year’s similar event ran in Austin, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York City.

This year’s event is free and is running from June 14-16 at The Showroom in Washington, D.C.

This makes me laugh. The downside of social media and social media is the world will forever be able to read his twitter posts.

The Daily Show was at least funny once in a blue moon when Jon Stewart was the host. I am surprised that pathetic tripe is still on the air.
