The House may vote to impeach President Donald Trump again if he wins re-election in 2020, according to some Democratic lawmakers.
In an interview with TMZ, Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) said she would be open to introducing new articles of impeachment after the 2020 presidential election if Trump wins.
“It might not be the same articles of impeachment, because the odds are we would have a ton more information. And then the odds of that, sadly enough, is that you know, he probably has other examples of criminal behavior.”

Noting that there are several lawsuits against Trump working their way through the courts, Bass said that in 2020 Democrats could have evidence that Trump is “a hundred percent owned by the Russians.”
“Even though we are impeaching him now, there’s still a number of court cases, there’s a ton of information that could come forward. For example, we could get his bank records and find out that he’s owned a hundred percent by the Russians.”
However, Bass said she doesn’t think Democrats will have to worry about bringing new articles of impeachment after the election because she doesn’t believe that he will be re-elected.
Bass is not alone in her sentiment. Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) noted that the Constitution does not limit the number of times Congress can impeach a president, and suggested that Democrats might vote to impeach him multiple times.
“The Constitution allows a president to be impeached more than once. If we impeach now, or at some time in the near future, for one issue that we clearly should, then we find later that the president has other issues that merit impeachment, we can impeach again. There is no limit on the number of times.”
He added that if the Senate does not vote to convict Trump, “it does not mean that the House is now hamstrung and cannot move forward again with impeachment.”
