Democratic Congressman Thinks FBI Agent Who Wanted to Stop Trump Deserves Purple Heart

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) thinks that FBI agent Peter Strzok’s work with special counsel Robert Mueller is comparable to the sacrifice of those awarded the Purple Heart.

“I don’t know where to start,” Cohen said. “If I could give you a Purple Heart, I would.”

Strzok appeared to testify before Congress on the inappropriate anti-Trump texts he sent to his mistress and former FBI agent, Lisa Page.

President Donald Trump has been very vocal about his disdain for Strzok and Page:

While many join President Trump in demanding answers to Strzok and Page attempting to “stop” Trump, Cohen only sees the hearing as an attack on Strzok and the Russian investigation.

“This has been an attack on you, in a way to attack Mr. Mueller and the investigation that is to get at Russia collusion involved in our election,” Cohen said.

Many were disgusted by Cohen’s comparison of Strzok to the heroes awarded the Purple Heart:

While Cohen showered Strzok with praise, he was not as lucky when Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) blasted him on the stand.

Page skipped her interview under subpoena, leading Republicans to threaten to hold her in contempt, according to CNN

Page resigned from her position with the FBI in May, while Strzok has since been dismissed from Mueller’s team and had his FBI security clearance revoked after his anti-Trump texts were released.
