‘Effective Legislator’ or ‘Twitter Star’: Dems Can’t Handle Freshman Ocasio-Cortez’s ‘Sniping’ Any Longer

Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is catching heat from her own party as Democratic lawmakers are growing frustrated with her style.

The freshman isn’t a stranger to using Twitter to push causes and oppose Republicans — from taking a swipes at Donald Trump Jr. to targeting President Donald Trump and Immigration and Customs Enforcement to her controversial Jesus-migrant caravan comparison.

Now, Democratic members of Congress are saying they’re done with her “sniping” at their own party and aren’t sure if her career in Congress will go too well if she keeps up the criticism.

“I’m sure Ms. Cortez means well,” Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) said, according to Politico, “but there’s almost an outstanding rule: Don’t attack your own people. We just don’t need sniping in our Democratic Caucus.”

“She needs to decide: Does she want to be an effective legislator or just continue being a Twitter star?” a House Democrat anonymously said. “There’s a difference between being an activist and a lawmaker in Congress.”

Another Democrat said they’d like to see the rising star, who is a self-described democratic socialist, give her fellow colleagues a chance before “passing judgment.”

“I think she needs to give herself an opportunity to know her colleagues and to give herself a sense of the chemistry of the body before passing judgment on anyone or anything,” Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-N.Y.) said.

Former Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.) also chimed in about the new congresswoman, telling Fox Business’ Neil Cavuto that “with all respect, I certainly hope she’s not the future and I don’t believe she is.”

Ocascio-Cortez previously responded to Lieberman’s statement, writing on Twitter, “New party, who dis?”

“People are afraid of her,” a senior Democratic aide told Politico, as some Democrats have withheld criticism of Ocasio-Cortez in fear that she’ll go after them on Twitter.

Unsurprisingly taking to Twitter, the freshman congresswoman responded to the Politico article.

There is a stark contrast between Ocasio-Cortez’s style and freshman Rep. Dan Crenshaw’s (R-Texas), as both of their names have been in the media several times.

Crenshaw previously told IJR the two have an “extremely different style […] policy differences are 180, but the style is also 180.”

As IJR Red reported, Republican veteran Crenshaw stepped up to the plate in the midst of the partial government shutdown to forgo his pay until there was an agreement to “adequately” fund border security.

Before she was sworn in, Ocasio-Cortez said it was “completely unacceptable” for members of Congress to be paid during the next shutdown, She has been quiet about it since.

Please Please just let her keep talking the more she talks the crazier she makes this party look!! She is the Gift that keeps on giving! Just like Maxine Waters the more she talks the worse their party looks! Actually they are a party of Terrorists in my opinion because they are working for the Illegals, MS-13, and their friends the terrorists! So why are our Taxpayers dollars being used to pay their salary!? Looks like the Illegals should be paying them!

Uh, dems, in case you didn’t notice, her leash needs shortening. Or, to us an equine reference, mustn’t give her her head.

Empty heads and empty wagons are responsible for a lot of noise! She needs to be quiet until she figures out how things work in Congress!

The President is not above viciously attacking members of his own party. His fans loves that about him because they think this is how things get changed by an outsider. You show them, Trump!

AOC tries to pull establishment Dems back from the brink because they are the ones who back the Republican policy or they needlesly primary against left-wingers in their own party who are leading in the polls, with the result of growing Twitter followers to over 2M. That’s lonely?

I mm confused.
