As Dems Decry Trump’s ICE Deportation Raids, Majority of Americans See It Differently

While congressional Democrats were up in arms about the Trump’s administration’s moves with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) deportation raids, a new poll reveals the slim majority of Americans might see things differently.

President Donald Trump made known that there would be significant ICE deportation raids over the past weekend. However, as Sunday evening rolled out, it seemed though there were low-profile raids, according to Reuters. However, Trump said they were “very successful.”

Democrats have decried the raids, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who said in June before a previous threat to begin ICE raids that it’s “an act of utter malice and bigotry, designed solely to inject fear in our communities.”

Ahead of Trump’s plans to carry out the deportation raids over this past weekend, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) claimed, “Cruelty seems to be the point of these.”

“This is not an act to root out dangerous individuals,” Schumer said. “This is an act of brutish force designed to spread fear in the immigrant community.”

On Saturday, 2020 Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) called for opposition to Trump’s “nightmarish mass-deportation plans.”

“We must stop family separation, reunite families that have been separated, and eliminate private detention facilities,” Sanders added. “Know your rights. Conozca sus derechos.”

Another 2020 Democratic hopeful, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), labeled the deportations “wrong.” She tweeted, “We are about to fail a critical moral test.” Harris also said, “This would be a shameful stain on our country.”

Several Democrats also pushed the “Know Your Rights” campaign ahead of the past weekend’s raids.

However, according to a Morning Consult/Politico poll, a slim majority of voters, 51%, support ICE’s deportation raids of illegal immigrants. Thirty-five percent are in opposition. Among those polled, 85% of Republicans are in support while 29% of Democrats expressed support.

As IJR Red previously reported, acting U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Commissioner Mark Morgan called the ICE raids “over-hyped” and “over-politicized” because “this is what ICE does every day.”

That 29% is a dangerous number for Dems. Don’t kid yourself. They can’t afford to have a large block support Trump and GOP candidates. If there’s that large a percentage of Dems that support this they also realize their leaders are putting illegals first, not Americans. This could cost the left dearly in 2020.

The Democratic Party is blowing up many things that aren’t new and have been quietly done in the past. They are grasping at straws to make this president and the Republican Party look bad for the upcoming election. They have nothing else factual to base their reasoning, as to why any of their candidates would make a better leader.
I do wish our president would not tweet. His tweets are only used against him as media fodder. Though I really doubt it hurts him because it just uncovers more left lunacy. Maybe that is why he does it.

Well…. that poll highlights the FACT that democrats don’t want our immigration laws enforced,, and care more about illegal aliens than they do American Citizens.

Tess- You should check kamala’s record on having parents of truant children arrested. Of course, NOW she regrets it.

I have to say this: If American parents exposed their children to the many dangers that ILLEGAL immigrant do in trying to gain entry into the U.S. ….ILLEGALLY, they would lose their parental rights in a court of law and their children would either be lost in foster care the rest of their lives or adopted out to another family. That’s a fact.
