I agree with Randy Quaid that the most earth-shaking realization to Hollywood was that their self-imposed postion as moral conscience, trend-setter, etc. was studiously ignored by us.  Had Meryl Streep truly been concerned about bullying and horrible things going on in this country, why didn't she mention the mentally disabled young man beaten and tortured by the four bullies in Chicago, or the sniper killing of policemen?  The fact of the matter is, no "celebrity" should have any more influence than any other person in the country when it comes to political opinions.  The difference is that they have an immediate microphone served up to them by the media.  These are people who paid obscene amounts of money to memorize words written by someone else and they move and stand on spots directed by someone else and they wear clothes purchased for them by someone else.  Why, in the name of good common sense, would we pay any attention to what they have to say?

I too agree with Randy Quaid and kudos to him for having the courage to speak out in an environment that will blacklist a Trump supporter. Blacklisting, how about that for supreme hypocricy! Also, @Mary J. Rode Wood, well said.  It needs to also be pointed out that the article said ". . . while many supported her . . ." that those "many" are the usual people whining because they didn't get their way or because they wasted a BILLION DOLLARS trying to get Hilllary elected or because they spend so much time pretending to be someone other than a real person that they are totally out of touch with real life or whatever. Streep, et. al:  you are of course entitled to your opinion but be advised:  we pay you to entertain us not to try to manipulate us!  Another big thank you to Randy Quaid.

Exactly... They need to remember their lines and their place.

However, it has helped me thin out my entertainment line up.  I won't be adding to many of these liberals bottom lines any more.  They want to lecture people and look down their noses at people that don't think like them.

People like Amy Schumer, George Clooney, Meryl, Lady Gaga, Katie Perry, Miley Cyrus, etc.   should realize that WE pay their salaries by choosing to watch them ACT, SING or JOKE.  That's it.... I don't care what their opinions are.... I don't wake up in the morning and base ANY of my decisions on their opinions Or advice.

They need to get over themselves and realize that they are really not that special.

Mari, you need to add Robert DiNiro and Seth Rogan to that list.  I am about as fed up as I can be over their need to label people with different political opinions as "wrong".  I really hope they get that "we" are done with being looked down upon.  How incredibly stupid it is that they feel they can insult 1/2 the population with no consequence whatsoever.  Maybe in the past, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins and the others like them didn't experience this backlash, but those days are over and "we" aren't forgetting this time. I still refuse to watch SNL and anything Tina Fey is in because of the unfairness they gave to McCain and Palin back in 2008. I don't mind a funny joke, but then joke about each side equally.  Make it so that I don't know whose side you're on.

What Ms Streep failed to understand is why Trump got elected.... he loves the USA and hates what has been done to it by liberals and our ineffective leaders of both parties and wants to do something about it. She can loose sleep over Trump's actions/words,  she can even tear up, but most of us care about he is going to do for us. In closing, I'd say she didn't do herself any favors.

Should we just ignore liberal celebrities then?  Is that what you are meaning to say?

Streep is too busy attempting moralism for all of us to care about that victim. Unfortunately, the victim was white so like Trump the victim didn't matter either.  I'm appalled that this woman couldn't graciously accept her award and let this go.  We should all be tired of the whining! Residing in Texas where they had to move to after their son embarrassed the hell out of the family for his part in that act. As an educator, I have seen bullying cut through the hearts of people who are so deserving of more. Streep's forum for putting down the new leadership of our country was disgusting and pathetic. In a few words, Streep could have stated a positive, even just one positive to help promote working together! Instead, we have people like her who believe so much in their power and ability to change minds, who do nothing but bully, and who also creates more division stand up in front of millions trying to cause more distrust! When will those in "Hollywood La La Land" come forward and promote something worthwhile to hear? Thank you Dennis Quaid for speaking your mind! We all know Quaid has his issues but he hit the nail on the head with this one,,,,

    Heres's my take regarding streep.

The hypocrisy is strong with this one. Hollywood is the worst offenders, they have made fun of, mocked, abused and taken advantage of blacks, mexicans, arabs, whites, indians, people of all races, disabled, Gays/lesbians, sexism, murder, rape, war, religion and it goes on and on, You name it and they have made fun of it at one point in time or another all for personal gain. They then get on their soapbox and tell us all how bad we are when in fact it is them that have desensitized and shaped most peoples opinions. I'm so sick of the hypocritical holier than thou bullshit that come out of their mouths. These people are nothing more than actors who dress up and pretend to be somebody else, they exist solely to entertain me, Their opinion has very little value to me nor should it to you.

What I don't understand is if these people love America, why don't they start by moving on.  We have for 8 years put up with Obama and his attraction to Hollywood and music stars.  We voted for someone who was not Hilary or Hollywood.  We voted for Trump because we love America and could see we were no longer a great nation and did not hear from Hilary or friends that they loved America or wanted it be great again.  WE saw a woman who wanted wealth and power even if it meant selling out America.

Judith, you are right about Obama and his "worshipping" of Hollyweird.  He most likely learned this from his #1 supporter and main reason why Obama became famous enough to run for president in the first place:  OPRAH WINFREY.  She's one more of those who appears to adore celebrities to the point of nausea.  I used to watch her show and finally figured out what she was and that was the end of that.  SHE is the SOLE AND PRIMARY REASON OBAMA EVER hit the national spotlight to begin with.  She featured him on her show time and time again, shoving him down everyone's throats, but HER worshippers followed suit and VOILA....we had OBAMA as our president.  So, thank Oprah for that.  Two peas in a pod.  Oprah and Obama.

What strikes me about reading  Randy Quaid's words is how very powerful the media is. It's becoming more haltingly apparent that if a journalist or reporter is being paid enough or may even just have a beef with someone, all they have to do is accuse, label, and make up a story to hurt someone else. That is what starts the spiral of fake news because that fake news might end up being spewed out to millions by an otherwise talented and respected actress so that many will most likely understand it as fact. It doesn't take much for people to believe anything and everything they are told, especially if that information is reinforced by others who may have an already established bias.

It appears Mr. Quaid has been subjected to this. We all want to be entertained even if the false story may be devastating to those involved. And in a place like Hollywood or D.C. one becomes a target or "marked" very quickly.

I would only hope that most of us are becoming more aware of what is fact and what may be fiction, and to begin with the awareness that most of what we read, hear, and see is, unfortunately, predicated by propaganda rather than news.

Under intitement, hounded by the FBI, a failure as Sectarary of State, Senator of New York and FLOTUS. A failed marriage held together by the realization that if they divorced, she would be seen as the scorned woman and thus unelectable. Either way, she is unelectable. This country dodged a huge bullet by not voting this witch in. Will Trump make America Great again? Who knows. But he damn sure will be head and shoulders better than what she would have (not) accomplished. Her goal is for herself, not this country. She has proved that time and time again. Lying under oath, lying to the American public, the FBI, the White House, her husband, children, etc. Trump hasn't even been sworn in yet, and she has orchastrated Hollywood and their kind to try and sabotage his Presidency. Are you going to tell me that the network was not aware that she was going to stand up with this drivel? we the people are tired of the media lying to us we are tired of the government doing what's best for them while we struggle every day. If Meryl Streep is so concerned about bullying why didn't she mentioned young disabled man who was traumatized by bullying later deemed hate crime the night before?  And Merrill wants to call everyone who wasn't born in Hollywood a foreigner? Hello Merrill anyone born in the United States is an American so just because people who were born in Hollywood stop working doesn't mean we won't have very good entertainment.  I actually believe there are plenty of young actors and actresses who could probably put on a much better show than you Hollywood elitist to sit at the Golden Globe lecturing the public! Look at it this way Merrill you're starting to get lifetime awards… Think about what that means!  Pretty soon the up-and-coming generation won't give a shit what movie you're in if that has not happened already. And if you think your appealing to them by being on the Hillary bandwagon check yourself… Because they are wising up to and all you're going to do is ruin your daughters career. If we didn't  prove our diligence by winning this election in spite of the crooked media and the crooked people in Washington and all of the hate going on around us we will prove our strength by standing behind our president and making America great again! then all you rich people will be begging to sit at Trumps table!

hI'm sorry those things happened go you Mr. Quaid! Lies and dishonesty have ruined alot of peoples lives if they didn't have powerful friends in powerful places....Thats the direction this country has gotten to, but was always in its underbelly.. The only reason the American People are finally seeing the dishonesty, pay offs, cover-ups, collusion, lies, and cover storys is because the government and powerful people have not changed their tactics and they do the same thing over and over and over again and we see it over and over and over again... We got smarter... and they didn't think we did.... They still thought the American people were all stupid, hillbilly ignorant DEPLORABLES who can't think for ourselves! Well, BAM!

So glad to hear Randy's side of things.  Nowhere did I ever hear his side of what happened to him and his wife. Having said that, I am sick of those pompous Hollyweird @$$€$ who get paid obscene amounts of money for pretending to be someone else, and, instead of saying "thank you" for their award, use their microphone to bloviate over their political opinions! Meryl and Babs do not speak for me! Their job is to entertain me. If they can't do that, I'll  not spend my bucks on their films, dvds, or whatever means they use to grab my money. I sympathize with both Meryl Streep & Randy Quaid's centiments.  But what I most distressed about & have been for a long time is US foreign policy, specifically the over half-century Middle East conflict which now has resulted to genocide & aparteid of the Palestinian people under Israel's military & brutal occupation.  Every day the Palestinians face a struggle to survive.  They are deprived of basic needs... housing, adequate food, clean water, electricity, etc. & are subjected to violence, murder, imprisonment, the stealing of their land, the demolition of their homes, humiliating checkpoints, on & on, still the world, people like Meryl Streep & Randy Quaid & others in the film industry who have the name recognition, resources & influence utter not a word of this tragedy occuring every day.  What about the so-called progessive Jewish film makers, actors & others holding powerful positions in the US, why are they allowing their country, Israel to committ such horrific acts upon Palestinians including children & women.  I would appreciate your comments on this tragedy being played out on a daily basis.

Ron, could not agree with you more, but I think the problem isn't with the politiicians, it's the people that elect them. These people talk about the media, but the media is what Trump thrives on, and the adulation of people thinking he is on their side and wants to make us great again. The media contributed to his rise. I applaud Meryl and her words. See if you still feel the same way in four years.  He is a charlatan, that is what he does, he can AFFORD to. He has nothing in common with you, nothing. He lives in his own priviledged world, and has since the day he was born. He has that elite mentality.

He will do nothing for you. He will not save you, your jobs, or make America great again.  I have yet to see any candidate act the way he has, say the things he has, and blatantly disregard the duties of office and the protocols, than he has. And you voted for this!!!!

It's really a shame that people can not see through him. Celebrities have as much right as any one else. After all our new President is a celebrity, did you forget that? Is it okay for him, and not others to behave the way he has?

As for his insulting the handicapped reporter, I don't know what tape everyone on here was watching. I haven't really seen any candidate act like that, that was just one incident of many where his behavior was like that of a spoiled brat.

Telling the Russians, to hack his opponents accout, that is all right too.  No problem with that???? We see what happened with that. You talk about hypocrites and condemn Meryl, but it's okay for Quaid, to talk politics. I do not deny him his voice let him babble, he also has mental issues.

Refreshingly, Randy Quaid was spot on. Meryl Streep's rant was hypocracy, personified. How convenient of her to omit the root cause of Donald Trump's rise to power. Why do you think he got elected? Proppelled by the Hollywood elite and press corp, America is in the toilet today, thanks in large part to President Obama. How convenient of her to ignore the worst race relations and minority crime wave which has scourged our nation. Thus, I find the entire film industry, revoltingly, two-faced. As they say: "Garbage in, garbage out." And man, does Hollywood know how to create a ton of garbage. The industry, as a whole, does very little to improve our society, in fact, it does the complete opposite. They have done enormous damage to American Culture, which is light-years from the era when Hollywood produced good examples of strong characters in substantive films.  Then again, they knew how to write and tell stories without the gratuitous, shameful violence and smut.

I susspect, today, their is simply a huge void of talent in Hollywood. It's not about quality productions anymore, it's about grinding out anything, anything. Take for example, 'La La Land', which, as you know, won seven Golden Globes. But, then again, Millennials and others have no clue since they've never even seen 'Singing In The Rain', let alone, other great musicals to compare it with. As such, for lack of true talent, lazy producers and overated actors trying to imitate past classics, we get a steady stream of rubbish. I'm not making any comparrison just stating a fact, today's public will swallow anything you dish out to them. Yet, due to our fixsation with "movie stars," and the lifestyle of the rich & famous constantly projected in our faces, the weak minded fall for this steady diet of minutia. Sadly, today's Hollywood has become the trend setter for empty headed autograph seekers who revere celebrities more than themselves by desperately trying to emulate every aspect of their lives, notwithstanding they don't have a pot to pea and/or, a clue what's real and what's not. HELLO, the real stars are right above your heads.

Aldebaran,  you expressed so well what many of us older people have been saying about Hollywood's  movies for years. They produce so much trash these days. I just went to see "Manchester by the Sea," and what could have been a good movie was garbage, because of the language.  I will never understand why Hollywood believes it's impossible to produce a good, quality movie, without using the F word in almost every paragraph?  They have the ability to help society form our young people into good quality adults, but they have chosen to help direct them into the gutter. So sad. They are the true "deplorables" in our country.

Hurah for Randy Quade! He told it like it is, not like delusional Meryl Streep fantasizes it to be. Hollywoods hearo is as phony as most of them are. Obama, a mysterious, highly scripted, evil villein, straight from central casting at George Soros Productions. He has a made up name, as most Hollywood actors do. He has a factious birth certificate, a borrowed Social Security number and a dubious past. Hillary, on the other hand, has a long acting carear. She is a villainous character who lies, cheats and is totally corrupt. She puts on a big phony smile as she weaves her inflated resume. She is a truly despicable and unlikeable character. She merits a participation award, or at best, a lifetime "SECOND PLACE TROPHY".

Randy hit right at the heart of it all. We didn't just find our voice, we used our voice. Just because the most populated states are California and New York, then why should we the American people have a vote? Because most of the actors and actress' live in either of those states. Also, we the audience don't want to hear what we have to do by the people we pay to watch act. I would prefer to watch Randy Quaid any day over Meryl Streep, who takes a lifetime achievement award and uses it to lecture about the election. That is not what we want to hear. It's bad enough the generations from the millenials to now are cauldeled so much that they can't even take the results of an election. I am pretty sure they don't understand the processes of an election, and just go with the things their beloved artist say. just because I pay to watch a movie or a listen to a song or go to a concert, doesn't give those artist my vote. My vote is my vote. And no one can take that away from me. The media is unfair to all kinds of people and a lot of the time it's the artist. And then the elections who ever they feel they want to be president, they become extremely biased. Where the media is supposed to keep their biase out of their work, it seems to be the biggest thing that they use when they report.

Unlike liberals we do not need to be lectured by hollywood elites they the last people in this nation we the American people would listen to to start with.

She said nothing of the rappers they give awards to who shame women call us the B word the C word and talk of rapping s and killing cops .

So much Hypocrisy on the left they seem to hold themselves at a different level than the rest of us.

They seem to think they know whats best for us when they live in holywood in some elite commnity.

They seem to think money talks and BS walks still well they soon fight out they way out of touch with the people.

Seem they would of realize this in this election but clearly shows they learned nothing so it will be up to us again to teach a harder lesson come next election and get rid of the rest of the lefts elites.

They not listening they still lecturing and degading and calling names this same women gave a known pedophile a standing novation and we are to listen to her BS about Trump?

When yu tube already debnked their false accsationns by showing Trumo hand gestures on 3 different times in 3 different rallies talking of 3 different people and situations of them getting caught off guard while ask a certain question and all he did was show how they stuttered while trying to weasle their way out of it? Truth hurts liberals and we one step ahead of you on anything you want to throgh out there at us and Trump.

They know liberals are ignorant to facts they know yo easily fooled they brag about it in Hillarys emails and you liberals just have no shame in your game do you and love how your party completelty makes fools of you.

Are you really as ignorant as they think you are?

You proving to the nation you sure are.

Now Hillary did not win poplar vote if yo take calif off the map and the electoral college was breifed on that.

They knew it going in and knew he won both fair and square and would not go against the people pick just cause it was a Clinton.

She only won with Calif and if you even once think we allow Calif to choose or president you are as ignorant as yor party plays yu for .

See not all of us believe in MSM we know they lie and maipulate to for ratings and they know the more the drama the better the reaction from the left and the better their rating are..

As you well see the rating is in the toilet liberals all but Fox news that is and that speaks loudly or should but just dont seem to register with your brains for some reason maybe cause misery loves company and democrats are miserable people when things dont go their way.

If my family and I, were going to acknowledge any actress for their ability to perform;  Helen Mirren has out performed Streep in oh so many ways.  Streep was just acting from a script, when she put-down our new leader - she has no mind of her own and relys on writers that give her those words. Knowing this, she had to figure out some way to stay in the lime-light and even if I was a, flaky-crusted actress, against Trump, her speech, I would think it was written in a juvenile fashion.

Thanks Randy, for speaking out - you were great in so many movies, especially liked you in Idependance Day.

Any time a person has a microphone in his or her hand and a public forum, that person has an opportunity to say whatever happens to come out of that person's mouth. That this particular actress, supported by people who pay to see her act, decided to use this entertainment forum as a political platform, was absolutely incorrect. I make my living as a professional singer and a vocal coach. When I have a microphone in my hand, my job is to sing for my audiences. I would never use the musical stage as a venue to exhort my political beliefs. If I am attending a political rally, given a microphone and asked to speak,  I will give my opinions. This actress was inappropriate and all who laud  her and support her, were inappropriate. Listen up, Democrats. You lost. Suck it up and get over it. I had to tolerate the last  eight years and I conducted myself as any good citizen would. I obeyed the law; when in public I deported myself properly; and when it came time for me to vote in 2016, I voted for the person of my choice. Time to move along. God Bless America

    No one really cares?

Streep ruined the awards show with her rant, and she should be ashamed of herself for bringing politics into a ceremony that should celebrate arts and performers. But she’s a condescending leftist, so she couldn’t help but jump at the chance to lecture everyone else.

Hollywood liberals have preached to the rest of the world for decades, but what they fail to realize is that they live in their own bubble. The presidential election should’ve taught them something, but their refusal to acknowledge that Hillary Clinton was deeply flawed as a presidential candidate demonstrates just how deep the sickness of liberalism runs.

The truth is that most Americans don’t care what Meryl Streep or any other out-of-touch celebrities think about them or their political choices.

Like my TI use to say, opinions are like bellybuttons, everybody's got one and they don't serve any useful purpose.  Just because a celebrity stands in front of a microphone and expresses an opinion totally unrelated to the event they're attending, in this case the Golden Globe Awards, why should I care?  The very idea that Meryl Streep wants to make a fool of herself by garbage dumping on our future president is so absurd and self-destructive on her part, she clearly didn't get the e-mail that the American people are quite capable of thinking and acting on their own behalf; evidence the results of this last presidential election.  In the military we'd label her performance "sour grapes" and false concern.  Please Meryl, grow up.  You're only making a fool of yourself.  As Mr Lincoln so eloquently put it, "...Better to remain silent and thought a fool, then to open you mouth and remove all doubt."  And, Thank You Mr. Quaid for stepping up and putting Ms Streep's remarks squarely where they belong... in the whine zone.... like a dog barking at the moon ! ! !

Well said Randy. I too was an actor in Hollywood, that echo chamber that says a lot but ultimately does very little. I was blacklisted and shunned by that industry for simply wanted to know who had threatened my 4 year old son and who beat my ex wife. I was told that maybe I would work again if I forgot about my f%cking children. I was harassed, surveillenced and  even death threatened. I recieved NOT ONE person in Hollywood or in the entertainment industry to back me up or at least try to give me an answer as to why I was being targeted. Granted I didn't have your illustrious kind of career but I did do over 30 films. I thought I had friends there. I found out the hard way and crawled out and reivented myself. The blacklist still hangs around my neck and if ever I run into anyone from that industry they generally avert their eyes and stare at their shoes. Spineless, that is what that 'business' is. They will endorse pedophiles and rapists but I guess just not people like yourself or me.

When anyone comes out about any topic of ugliness, they do not come out on all topics of ugliness.  No one has the time to do that these days.  For Meryl Streep to plead with everyone watching the show to change our thinking is not wrong.  But why is it wrong for her to do so but not for Randy Quaid to badmouth her?  This has nothing to do with who will be in the whitehouse.  It has nothing with how much was spent.  This has to do with ANYONE mocking a disabled person.  This has to do with ANYONE making fun of someone's looks.  It's also about someone admitting to sexual assault on women.  (And Jeff Sessions even stated that was sexual assault so even if he is approved, he may not get his position)  We have to treat each other better.  And we have to know everyone has an opinion and it is not always the same as ours.  And by the way, when Randy Quaid was tearing up his hotel rooms and leaving without paying his bill, and was arrested for doing so, were you all thrilled with his actions?

I wanted to but like the church members we all prayed that Trump would get in.  I wanted to delete the actors from my page but then I would lose contacts to ever work with them again.  And I have the mamma mia movie (watched it over and over and over again) I don't want to ever watch it or any of her other movies.  Up until I read what you wrote I was thinking that all actors are liberals or democrats and that if I do get to California, I would have to just be quiet about my beliefs. Had I been there to see her myself on stage, I would've had to politely leave the room. Lisa Bassett

Meryl Streep, pay to take an ad out in the paper or buy some tv air time if you have something to say but don't use an awards show to jam your opinion down Americas throat.

Randy!! You are the bomb!! You totally get it. The public woke up but not those in their ivory towers. I didn't know all those awful things happened to you and I don't agree that if you are in the public eye you have no say in the lies that are told about you. You have had some awful things happen. God bless you in the future and your family. You are fair and that is all we want.

Thank you Randy Quaid for your enlightening letter to Meryl Streep.  We common folk Americans believe Hollywood has gone too far left, therefore, they have no basic ability to perceive, understand and judge.  Meryl Streep and Hollywood needed a wake-up call like your letter.   God bless you and your family.

The problem with Hollywood today is it doesn't realize that the McCarthyism approach should be dead and buried. Too many actors were blacklisted because they said a good word about Communism or a friend or family member did. The media was paranoid that someone would  offend Democracy so they parlayed a witchhunt not allowing anyone who spoke out about alternate ideas to get work. Sound familiar?  Free speech went by the wayside. Now you have performers blackballed because they are in favor of a candidate who does not jive with their progressive agenda. Goodbye to freedom of expression, which is what Liberals used to be so  reverent about!!

We were told a few years ago that "elections have consequences". True, and the left today is having a hard time dealing with those consequences. They truly believed that the people wholeheartedly supported their anti-American left-wing agenda and they would never lose another election. The truth comes hard to them.

People keep forgetting that HILLARY CLINTON WON BY A THREE MILLION PEOPLE' S VOTES, WHILE Trump had to be installed as President via a loophole that handed him the PRESIDANCY because his DEPLORABLES live in a part of the country where Electeral College votes  (a big fat loophole) are given more weight than the real people's votes!!! So what if there are more votes in the states like California and New York Tri State Area? There are voters who get one vote each and the Elec. College states should get the same...one vote per person voting. Only then can we Have FAIR and HONEST elections! The only reason Trump will be sworn in on January 20th is that he had more votes under a very flawed and unfair election loophole  where the states where his DEPLORABLES live fall under the loophole. Just watch the Inaugeral balls (no Trump pun intended). NONE of his  DEPLORABLES (those whose states handed him the Presidency) will be there. If we counted ALL the ACTUAL VOTES cast by ALL ACTUAL PEOPLE, Hillary Clinton WOULD be President. Trump has NO MANDATE and in spite of the lies being spewed out by his minions on FAUX News he did NOT win by such a large margin and the only way he won is by counting cows, chickens and pigs, which must be his core constituancy!

Quaid has a perspective we may not have seen or heard ..and it makes good sense. The voters have found 'their' voice ..not echoing what celebrities or the media tells them  ..I have to agree.

So because wrongs, such as bullying and fake news, exist in Hollywood as well as politics an actor can't comment on one without being required to comment on the other? Really? I can't decide which is more pathetic, Quaid's poor-me whining or his trashy fur coat. I have no love for either candidate, but I'll be really, really glad when people get over this sh!t and stop using it as an attention getting mechanism.

I guess she forgot when in 2003 she gave a standing ovation to the child rapist Roman Polanski when he received an Academy Award for best director for the Pianist in absentia. Still won't enter the US because he will be prosecuted. did she not remember giving a child rapist a standing ovation.  I am so unimpressed with her.

The problem with the criticism of bullying is by ignoring the position of the person doing the bullying.   Make no mistake, the idiotic behavior from some on the other side is ridiculous.   It's wrong.   Of course it's also easy to attach political affiliation to people who probably don't vote, haven't voted and may not even have the rights to vote.   That doesn't detatch blame, just is a bit of reality.   The aspect that people forget is that this bullying isn't Joe Public, it's the person in the highest office in the land.   I hope the best, and do agree that the system has issues that need to be resolved, just not sure that someone who is probably more corrupt than the system is the answer, but definitely hope he proves a fear wrong.

  • Randy Quaid's in a whole lot of civil and criminal trouble in my home town of Santa Barbara, CA. It's hard to know who's right. But, right now, there's not much sympathy going around (here) for Randy Quaid. He's not somebody I'd listen to on the topic of Meryl Streep's pathetically out-of-touch Golden Globes speech!

Streep has a very high opinion of herself which is not returned.  I think her awards have gone to her head and she thinks people care how she feels.  We the public do NOT.  She should grow up and learn tolerance and love. As Mr. Quaid stated, no one came to his aid.  Hollywood is full of a bunch of people who think they are important.  They are not.  They do not do much that really helps society.

Meryl Streep also conspicuously failed to say Natalie Portman is from Israel (she said Jerusalem without Israel, which is a subtle anti-Israel message)! For that, Streep deserves all the criticism she gets and thensome! We need to URINATE on Meryl Streep!

I sure hope meryl streep read this letter from randy quaid. Meryl Streep doesn't even know WHO SHE IS when she awakens each morning. All she consist of is a life of other people; doesn't even have her own identity. Besides Trump used the same Hand Movement when he talked about 2 others also whom didn't remember something and those 2 people had NO disabilities!! Meryl Streep needs to go back and live in her fantacy land where she belongs and leave the Now Honest, hardworking government to take office out of her nonsence opinions!

So sick of these Politically Correct preachy Libs in Hollywood. Trump and the US COngress need to pass a law that all Hollywood actors, actresses, directors, writers and producers must do 1 WEEK of honest physcial labor every year. Meryl Streep can do house cleaning for a week. Sean Penn can pick up people's garbage. Maybe if these "We're so much better than the working class stiffs in fly over states" did some honest work they wouldn't be the selfish, preachy, $&*&@$# the American public know them all to be.

Picture this for your next movie role, Meryl. Grandma Kathy sitting in her 29' 5th wheel in Pearland, TX trying to get some sun and get away from it all. She can't sleep through her husband's snoring even though she loves him with all her heart. They were married in MA in 1979, moved to a new home in MO in '97, lived in Brazil when 911 happened and she actually had Lazik surgery 'to open' both her eyes on 9/12, the day after. Now comes their Investment Property that they built in the little town of Etna, WY. Population 220 back in 2004 but now that it's 2017 it's down to 164. They like to say it's really 162 since they're Snowbirds now. Even though the WY house is empty now, no longer a safe haven for their daughter and 2 young Grandsons, they're still having to pay Chase Bank over  $2,500 each month or they'll reposses it right out from under their feet. But Chase Bank doesn't realize that it's not under their feet right now anyway! Right now they're paying over $600 more each month to sleep in a 5th wheel and "Get away from it All...?!". Wouldn't you like to play with that juicy part? Too bad it's not fiction. Maybe I could sell the rights to one of these major motion picture studios and make a billion dollars like Oprah!? What do you think???? Me I just know that won't ever happen and LOL.
