CNN host Don Lemon had harsh words for rapper Kanye West’s meeting with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Thursday. According to Lemon, West’s mother is “rolling over in her grave” because of her son’s actions.
Lemon said he felt bad for West’s “minstrel show” in front of “mostly white people,” adding he had to stop watching the meeting.
“And if anyone around him cares about him, the family that he mentioned today or whomever, his managers, maybe some other people who are in the music business who know him, they need to grab him and snatch him up and get Kanye together because Kanye needs help,” Lemon said.
Lemon also complained about the lack of coverage of when rapper Common visited the White House when Barack Obama was president.
“This was an embarrassment. Kanye’s mother is rolling over in her grave,” he continued. “I spoke to one of her friends today or texted with one of her friends today from Chicago, Donda’s friend. I used to live there. I know him. She said, ‘Donda would be embarrassed by this. She would be terribly disturbed by this.’ And Kanye has not been the same since his mother died.”

Lemon further stated West does not represent the African-American community and the media needs to pull their cameras away from him.
Lemon was not the only television host who had a poor reaction to the meeting. Shortly after it took place, MSNBC’s Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle were on the verge of shock.
“Wow,” Velshi said. “That was bonkers.”
“If you think you are going to get a thoughtful, play-by-play, and political analysis, you’re not because that was an assault on our White House,” Ruhle added.
