President Donald Trump wished everyone a happy Father’s Day, including his “worst and most vicious critics,” as other members of the Republican Party joined in to celebrate the day honoring dads.
In a tweet published Sunday morning, the president proclaimed a “Happy Father’s Day to all,” even extending the wish to his fiercest detractors and proclaiming it is a “fantastic time to be an American.”
Happy Father’s Day to all, including my worst and most vicious critics, of which there are fewer and fewer. This is a FANTASTIC time to be an American! KEEP AMERICA GREAT!

“Happy Father’s Day to all, including my worst and most vicious critics, of which there are fewer and fewer,” tweeted Trump. “This is a FANTASTIC time to be an American! KEEP AMERICA GREAT!”
The tweet is in a similar vein as some of Trump’s more prolific holiday tweets, such as when he wished his “haters and losers” a happy Thanksgiving, as IJR Red previously reported.
Other members of the Republican party took to the Twittersphere to honor their dads on Sunday, as well.
Here are some of the highlights:
My father is my first hero, and I am so thankful for him. Missing him dearly.

Happy Father’s Day to every great dad! I’m especially grateful for my amazing father, who was blessed to come to America as a refugee, and I’m missing my wonderful friend Walter Jones, who was like a father to me in Congress. Being a dad is the greatest joy of my life.

Additionally, IJR Red noted that House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) posted a video to Twitter remembering his dad, Owen McCarthy, who served his community as a firefighter and passed away from cancer at the age of 58, whom he said “always kept a positive attitude” in the face of his illness.
