Rihanna has made a name for herself as a global superstar in the music, fashion, and makeup industries, but does she count President Donald Trump as one of her fans?
It might seem like a wild thought, but a potentially errant Twitter like in the early hours of Wednesday left many scratching their heads.
The “Trump Alert” Twitter account, an automated bot that tracks the Twitter interactions of the president and his family, broke the news at 12:40 a.m. ET. The president had “liked” a tweet praising an excerpt of Rihanna’s recent conversation with Interview Magazine.
“Every new Rihanna interview makes me grow stronger,” read the tweet from Heben Nigatu, a writer for Showtime’s “Desus & Mero” late night show. “We stan a work/life balance queen!!!”
The president, or someone with access to his Twitter account, seemingly agreed with that sentiment — or hit the heart-shaped “like” button with an errant finger just after midnight.

As of 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday, the “like” was still visible on the president’s account — alongside another potentially errant like of a September 2017 tweet claiming Trump isn’t “presidential material.”
Needless to say, people were a bit confused.
“WHAT IS HAPPENING,” Nigatu wrote in a Wednesday morning tweet, before summarizing her reaction with a photo of Khloé Kardashian.

Some wondered if Trump was actually taking Rihanna’s message to heart:
One way to read this is that Trump is worried he's working too hard. https://t.co/qtDeeqCgoI

As for the actual quote, Rihanna’s advice on striking the balance between yourself and your work is pretty solid — but it might be a bit hard for the most powerful person on the planet to really take advantage of it.
“It’s only the last couple years that I started to realize that you need to make time for yourself, because your mental health depends on it,” Rihanna told actress Sarah Paulson in the conversation for Interview Magazine. “If you’re not happy, you’re not going to be happy even doing things that you love doing.”
Rihanna explained how she places the importance of taking time for her personal life on par with her work, even if she loves what she’s doing professionally. The singer also revealed how she regularly takes personal days.
Of course, the president does also seem to have an affinity for taking personal days. Trump visited his golf courses over 150 times in just the first year of his presidency and he hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down since.
