Swalwell Politicizes Mother’s Day to Push Russia Collusion Narrative, Take Shots at POTUS and Family

@EricSwalwell/Twitter

2020 Democratic presidential primary candidate and California Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) published a tweet on Mother’s Day targeting President Donald Trump and the first family, accusing them of conspiring with Russia to “undermine America’s democracy.”

In a tweet posted Sunday night, Swalwell — who announced his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination in April — proclaimed that Mother’s Day was “a day to celebrate family” before continuing on to claim that the Trump family was “eager to work” with the Russians to “undermine America’s democracy.”

“Today is a day to celebrate family,” Swalwell tweeted. “Unless your family was eager to work with the Russians to undermine America’s democracy.”

The California Democrat also included a video of him in an MSNBC interview accusing the president and his son, Donald Trump, Jr., of having “lied about” meeting with the Russians and claiming that “no one believes that [President Trump] did not know about it.”

Watch the video here:

“Donald Trump, Jr. the candidate’s son at the time took a meeting with Russians offering dirt and then it looks like they lied about it. And no one believes that his father did not know about it. There’s just no way, knowing everything I know from interviewing dozens of witnesses about this relationship.”

“So he still has, to the Senate at least, some explaining to do,” continued Swalwell. “And he should have to explain that.”

The Democratic congressman went on to say the “most frustrating thing” about the first family’s conduct is the president having “a victory toast” with Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin after Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report found that the Russians interfered with the 2016 presidential election.

“What is so frustrating about the way that the Trump family has conducted themselves, and the way the president has conducted themselves, is we have this report from the Mueller team that our country was attacked, that the intelligence community says this attack is ongoing, and the president has a victory toast with Vladimir Putin when he calls him.”

“That is just nutty,” added the California congressman.

Swalwell is referencing Trump’s phone call with Putin earlier this month, which the president tweeted about, saying that “getting along with Russia, China, and everyone is a good thing.”

Additionally, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report also found that the 2016 Trump campaign did not conspire with the Russian government to win the election. The redacted version of the report was made public last month.

As IJR Red previously reported, Swalwell made a similar set of comments at the end of April, stating that he “think[s] [Trump] acts on Russia’s behalf.”

He doesn’t even have a snowballs chance in hell to get on the ticket, which he knows, so essentially he is campaigning for his seat again and letting everyone know why they shouldn’t vote for him for either. He has no common sense.

With the EXCEPTION of the 140 contacts with Russians outlined in the Mueller report, Trump wasn’t lying to the American people when he repeatedly claimed “No one from the campaign colluded with Russians.” With the EXCEPTION of the Moscow Trump Tower deal, he wasn’t lying about having no business deals in Russia. With the EXCEPTION of the the 10 cited instances of attempting to obstruct justice cited in the Mueller report, he isn’t lying about being exonerated. Read the REPORT.

Mueller should have been investigating Hillary, the DNC and Barry for his payment ($972,000) and their collusion with Russia to affect the 2016 election. Crooked Hillary cheated Bernie out of his rightful place; but she sure failed to cheat Trump. She needs to go back to Crime School (or better yet: to prison).

How do you read Deputy AG Rosenstein’s Order 3915-2017 appointing Mueller as special counsel and outline the 3 parameters of his investigation to be of Clinton or Obama? I’m not seeing it. I also don’t see how the winner of the Democrat nominee in 2016 should have been the guy who lost 34 of the 57 races. If the DNC used the RNC method of winner take all delegates, Bernie would have had even less of the delegate count that he earned. How is the loser’s rightful place the winner?

James

And just how did Bernie lose those races? Wasn’t it because he was CHEATED out of his rightful place by Crooked Hillary who believed she “was entitled to be the POTUS”; that she had been “anointed by the masses” as the Queen (e.g., radicalized Socialist dictator) to that position?

She’ll continue her whining and braying (like the donkey she is) well past her dying day about losing and has to yet to blame her mother for her loss. America and the World is better off without her in D.C.

I’m guessing you didn’t following Bernie’s campaign in 2015-16. It consisted of free college, $15 fed. min.wage, & “breaking up the big banks. April, 2016, the media finally asked Bernie about his “big banks”–he could NOT define how big the bank needed to be to be broken up & who would decide-He never did come up with a response. When asked HOW he was going to convince R’s to support his $15 minimum wage, it was “Tell them “It’s a revolution.” Would YOU have voted for Bernie?

I voted for Hillary after reviewing her policy proposals. Each one was detailed, indicated cost, and how a proposal would be paid. When the $15 minimum wage was put to her, she explained that SOME STATES could handle $15, but NOT ALL businesses in ALL STATES. She wanted to see the minimum wage raised, but NOT to $15. She wanted 2 yr college for trade school and re-training of workers displaced by automation. Now of the 2 candidates, WHICH 1 would you have supported?

When I read your post of conspiracies and you believe your news source is “real news” it makes me angry. NOT WITH YOU, but at outlets that would feed you bullpucky and tell you they are a news outlet.Taking advantage of listeners’ trusting nature is not my idea of “real news.”

“To prison” on what charge???

James

You obviously do not read or hear any REAL news. HRC is guilty of so many crimes AND Muslim Barry was complicit in them. EX: Barry KNEW of her illegal server because he communicated with her ON IT. The FBI has found 40+ emails on her illegal server; 4 of which were classified Top Secret (a violation of 18 USC 793, the Espionage Act). She LIED about Benghazi (as did Muslim Barry) and people died. HRC paid Fusion GPS for unverified garbage to discredit Trump in 2016. There’s much more . .

HRC has LONG missed her life sentence in prison. She’s been a criminal ever since her days in Arkansas; or, maybe even from her time in college when she followed Saul Alinsky around to learn HOW to destroy a Government (OUR’s) from within. Even in college in 1969, she became radicalized under Alinsky’s guidance and was plotting how to politically destroy America. She DESERVES prison.

Arkansas Attorney General, DC police, the FBI, 3 special counsels (Fiske, Starr, Ray) AND Grand juries all cleared Hillary of every conspiracy R’s could dream of. WAS Hillary ever indicted or fined for your perceived crimes? YOU voted for a man that was fined on DOZENS of occasions for corrupt business practices. He was sued for FRAUD. YOU KNEW what you were voting for and attempting to deflect by claiming the other candidate was the corrupt one, is silly. Give it up.

Whitewater investigation lasted SIX YEARS. Robert Fiske, Ken Starr and Robert Ray ALL CLEARED Hillary of ALL conspiracies. Do you know anyone who did a senior thesis WITHOUT investigating their topic? No senior adviser would allow a student to submit a thesis without investigating the topic to their satisfaction. Have you read her senior thesis? Does she support Alinsky? It does not. BUT WHY do you believe it does?

“With the EXCEPTION of the 140 contacts with Russians”, so, now in philly’s alternative world, CONTACT equals COLLUSION.

Phyllis Softa

Are you certain you read the actual Mueller report? COLLUSION was covered on page 2 of the Introduction of Volume I.

“With the EXCEPTION of the Moscow Trump Tower deal”. What Trump Tower stands in Russia?

Phyllis Softa

How far exactly did you get into the report?? There are 4 full pages devoted to the Moscow Trump Tower deal.—You know, the deal Trump told you did not exist, before he told you it ended Jan, 2016. Ring any bells?

“With the EXCEPTION of the the 10 cited instances of attempting to obstruct justice cited in the Mueller report”. WHERE are the charges? I’ve read the report, philly, and if there was ANYTHING there, charges would have been brought. ESPECIALLY with the hatred for TRUMP.

Phyllis Softa

How did you miss reading Pages 260- 270 Statutory & Constitutional Defenses? If DOJ rules did not permit a sitting POTUS to be indicted, they left the decision to CONGRESS and SPECIFICALLY states the decision to charge Trump AFTER he leaves office remains an option. The conclusion of the individuals that you perceive hated Trump, did not perceive he would have the opportunity to defend himself. Perhaps you need a second reading.

Phyllis Softa

What was your reaction when you read the report and realized that Priebus and Lewandowsky publicly lied about knowledge of Trump’s orders to fire Mueller or Sessions? At least McGahn refused to comment. What did you think of the crazy idea for Sessions to order Mueller to change the scope of the investigation to be “only future election crimes.” Interesting concept, no? Not crimes committed, but crimes committed in the FUTURE. You’ve pledged unconditional support to a real nut.

banstan

“You’ve pledged unconditional support to a real nut.” You continued insistence that KNOW what is going on inside peoples heads has gotten really old. Like I said, if ANYTHING was really there, charges would have been brought.”If DOJ rules did not permit a sitting POTUS to be indicted, they left the decision to CONGRESS and SPECIFICALLY states the decision to charge Trump AFTER he leaves office remains an option.” An option???

banstan

If anything was there, a sealed indictment would have been issued instead of just being an option. If anything was there, the dims wouldn’t be tripping all over themselves on whether or not to impeach. I can’t wait to see how you spin the next several months when all of your Trump conspiracies are finally put to rest.

Phyllis Softa

WHY would you ask ME? I had no part in writing the report–the only option available to me is reading it.Trump ordering McGahn to fire Mueller is not a conspiracy. Trump telling Lewandowski to tell Sessions to unrecuse or fire him isn’t a conspiracy. Trump telling Cory to tell Sessions to limit the scope of the investigation to “crimes in future elections.” Trump telling Priebus to fire Mueller is not a conspiracy. They are statements UNDER OATH reported in the Mueller report that you read.

I wish to assure you the very last place I ever wish to be is in your head. Granted, you do not post the craziest thoughts here, but it’s still not a place I wish to go. I am guessing from your question on the option, you too would like to hear from Mueller. I had no part in the report. If Mueller’s team couldn’t charge a sitting POTUS & DIDN’T exonerate him, the option is open to DOJ when he leaves office. I am taking the word of >800 former prosecutors they would CHARGE.

philly, just quit insulting people here and acting like you didn’t. Quit playing little innocent philly. Quit acting like you know what is going on inside peoples heads. Lose your false sense of superior intellect and maybe conversations can happen. I am tired of trying to talk to the high and mighty philly and I’m NOT the only one on this site that feels that way.

Phyllis Softa

WHY would I need to get in your head? You post your thoughts and opinions. I have no reason to believe they are not your thoughts and opinions.

With your constant repetition of dim talking points about the mueller report, it makes me wonder if YOU have really read the report, as you claim.

You are making progress with the gambling issue. You are not betting on notions you are completely off base. I read it online on my lap top but with bifocals & going back & forth from the bottom of the page footnotes to the text and back up to the text, I had to read it twice to capture info I missed. I ordered the report from Amazon hoping that my husband would at least read the summaries. He refuses. I read it for a 3rd time with much greater ease.
