Everyone’s Talking About How Ivanka Trump Got Harassed on JetBlue Flight—Here’s What They Missed

Ivanka Trump boarded a JetBlue flight from New York this morning with her husband and children for what she thought would be a peaceful trip to Palm Beach, Florida.

It turned out to be anything but.

When the mother of three boarded the plane she was verbally accosted by a lawyer named Dan Goldstein, according to the Daily Mail.

The website reports that Goldstein shouted at Ivanka as she tried to distract her children with crayons. He told the mother:

“Your father is ruining the country.”

He was apparently outraged that the family was on the plane:

“Why is she on our flight. She should be flying private.”

As JetBlue personnel was removing the man, whom TMZ reports was holding a child in his arms during the confrontation, he yelled:

“You’re kicking me off for expressing my opinion?!!”

The man’s husband, Matthew Lassner, took to Twitter to document the incident:

Though Lassner’s Twitter account has since been deleted, he wrote that his husband was actively seeking out the Trumps to harass them. In other words, it was premeditated.

Before boarding, he tweeted:

Ivanka and Jared at JFK T5, flying commercial. My husband chasing them down to harass them. #banalityofevil

He claimed that they were both removed from the flight because they said they didn’t want to fly with the president-elect’s family:

He said that his husband kept his cool during the incident:

Ivanka and Jared on our flight. My husband expressed displeasure in a calm tone, JetBlue staff overheard, and they kicked us off the plane.

The plane was still boarding when the men and child were removed.

But why could the man even get to Ivanka in the first place?

Because she was humbly flying in coach.

Goldstein, her own harasser, put it best – she could be “flying private.”

It would certainly provide better security for someone who is under Secret Service protection. And as a successful business woman, cost is most likely not an issue.

President-elect Trump himself well-known for owning a private Boeing 757, which he calls “T-bird.”

Instead, Ivanka chose to do what most of us do—get a cheap seat and try to enjoy the ride.

JetBlue has since released a statement about the incident:

“The decision to remove a customer from a flight is not taken lightly. If the crew determines that a customer is causing conflict on the aircraft, the customer will be asked to deplane, especially if the crew feels the situation runs the risk of escalation during flight. Our team worked to re-accommodate the party on the next available flight.”

A spokesperson for the Trump family declined to comment, according to AP.
