Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) and Maine Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner may belong to the same political party, but that does not mean there is mutual admiration.
The Pennsylvania senator told CNN Tuesday that Platner was a a âcreeperâ and a âNazi sympathizer.â
Fettermanâs words were in light of Platners latest scandal.
Fetterman said he was frustrated after it was reported Platner had sent explicit messages to at least six women and maintained an active profile on Kik, an anonymous chatting platform for lax identification methods that have enabled the proliferation of child sexual abuse material.
âWhat kind of a creeper has spent a decade on a platform like Kik, and send a dozen explicit kinds of messages and who knows what else?â Fetterman said of Platner, who is married.
Fetterman also referred to Platner as âP-Hustleâ in reference to Platnerâs username from his old Reddit account. On this account, Platner made several controversial comments about minimizing sexual assault, masturbating in public facilities and claiming a wounded soldier âdidnât deserve to live.â
Fetterman also spoke about scandal surrounding Platnerâs now-covered-up tattoo that resembled a Nazi symbol, He had kept the tattoo uncovered for 18 years.
âAll Iâm saying is when I was growing up, if someone had a clear Nazi tattoo on them, you probably could conclude that theyâre a Nazi sympathizer,â Fetterman said. âAre you going to continue to defend that or dismiss that?â
Watch:
However, Fetterman acknowledged what would happen if Platner beat his presumptive Republican opponent, Maine Sen. Susan Collins.
âWeâll all have to work together,âFetterman said.
During the day, Fetterman also called out Democrats for not condemning Platnerâs growing list of scandals.
âIâm saying that the last time Democrats leaned in on a guy that was sending, you know, kinds of messages to women, I think that was like Swalwell, you know,â Fetterman said. âI donât know, thatâs not someone Iâm ever gonna carry water for.â
