A film criticâs accusation against âAvatar: The Way of Waterâ did not sit well with critics on Twitter.
The Twitter account Clown World shared a screenshot of film critic Kathia Woodsâ take on the film.
âAt some point we gotta talk about the cultural appropriation of Avatar and white actors are cos playing as poc. Itâs just a mess and so not necessary and no amount of visual effects/CGI is gonna erase that. Bad Lace fronts/Dry synthetic braids. Jesus fix it,â Woods tweeted.
One user reacted to the tweet, saying, âAt some point we gotta talk about how wokeness and people like Kathia Woods are ruining the Entertainment industry with takes like this. People so bitter they canât enjoy a fantasy film and itâs message. Americans and their rabid race politics infecting the western world.â
Author Tim Young wrote, âLeftist film critics are now concerned about the cultural appropriation of⌠the blue Avatar things.â
Another tweet noted Woods âturned off the comments.â
It continues, âOOP. The Dundee Award for âBad Take of the Dayâ goes to .â

Axios reported on Tuesday Disney shares have decreased by close to 5% as a result of a disappointing debut for the film.
âCameronâs films have always been marathon runners, not sprinters, so itâs the final gross that will be key,â Comscoreâs senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian, previously told the outlet.
The performance at the box office will determine whether the franchise will get more than a second movie, as Axios reported.
