Five Republicans joined Democrats Wednesday to subpoena Attorney General Pam Bondi to testify before Congress about her Department of Justiceās (DOJās) heavily scrutinized rollout of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
The House Oversight Committee voted 24-19 to call in Bondi to appear in front of Congress to discuss the DOJās release of the files, the manner of which has garnered significant criticism from across the political spectrum. Republican South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace ā a leading proponent for greater transparency regarding Epsteinās child sex trafficking empire ā brought the motion. Four of her GOP colleagues joined her in voting for it: Republican Reps. Lauren BoebertĀ of Colorado, Tim Burchett of Tennessee, Michael Cloud of Texas and Scott Perry of Pennsylvania.
Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer joined most of the panelās Republican majority in voting against the motion.
The DOJ did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundationās request for comment.

The Republican lawmaker, who is running for South Carolina Governor, went on to call Epsteinās case āone of the greatest cover-ups in American history.ā She pointed to missing videos and audio as well as outstanding documents numbering in the millions.
āWe want to know why the DOJ is more focused on shielding the powerful than delivering justice. The American people deserve answers, victims deserve justice. HOLD. THE. LINE,ā Mace added in her post.
āThe DOJ has quietly removed more than 65,000 pages of Epstein files, without answering a single question from Congress,ā Mace wrote in another Wednesday X post sent from her personal account. āToday I moved to subpoena Attorney General Pam Bondi. You promised transparency. Itās time to deliver. The American people deserve the truth. RELEASE THE FILES.ā
Mace and Boebert were notably among the original four House Republicans who in 2025 joined Democrats in signing a discharge petition to force the House to vote for the Epstein files.
