‘She’s Not Going to Make It’: Fmr Gillibrand Staffers Want Senator to Call It Quits on WH Bid: Report

Two former staffers and a friend of 2020 Democratic presidential primary candidate Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) said that they believe the New York senator should quit her presidential campaign.

According to a report by the New York Post, a long-time fundraiser for the senator — who is struggling to meet the 130,000 unique donors to qualify for next month’s Democratic debate in Houston, Texas — claimed that many of Gillibrand’s supporters want her to remain in the Senate.

“It would be best if she decided that this was not her time,” the fundraiser said. “Most people that I talk to are very happy with her as their senator and don’t want her to give up her Senate seat and don’t see any realistic traction for her.”

A former senior staffer for Gillibrand in her Senate office said that he doubted “anyone” wanted to see the senator in the next debate and that people find her “performative and obnoxious.”

The former aide also criticized Gillibrand for flipping on issues like the Second Amendment and immigration.

“I don’t know that anyone even wants to see her on the debate stage. Everyone I have talked to finds her performative and obnoxious. She comes across as an opportunist to the public. I think that’s the biggest problem. I think she’ll have to seriously evaluate her campaign and her candidacy if she doesn’t make this debate.”

Another friend of the senator’s said that they do not believe that Gillibrand will “make it” and that she should look for a strategy that “enhances” herself “as she gracefully exits” from the White House race.

“She’s not going to make it,” said another longtime friend and supporter. “What is Kirsten’s reason to stay in? She should find some gracious way that enhances her […] as she gracefully exits and throws her conditional support to whoever does get [the nomination].”

Most of us would prefer if she stayed home instead of pretending to be a Senator! It’s become pretty obvious that she will do or say most anything to gain more power or advance herself. Better yet, she should go to Venezuela and represent people there!

But these same people think DeBlasio is a better candidate for President. I guess to be a Democratic candidate for 2020, you are supposed to be narcissistic, unrealistic, make absurd comments and promises and set obscure goals. It doesn’t matter that their proven track records show that they have problems controlling funds and can’t explain missing funds, and the only thing they do for the regular joe voters is to raise their taxes. I didn’t agree with Gillibrand’s decision to run for President after promising to not do it if she was re-elected. She can’t have her cake (senate seat)… Read more »

1st clue that Kirsten was a non-starter: Not one of her *ahem* fellow Dims attacked her. If she’d had anything different to present or looked like a threat they would have.

Ms. Blonde Ambition is a non-starter and had now revealed herself as a complete liar for flipping on those things she claimed as a senatorial candidate.

Biden being a figurehead, weak and flexible is about as bad as his former weak, inept and spineless boss #44.

Promises, Promises she cannot keep. This is like she is in High School running for Student Body President. Making all these stupid promises. This goes for Warren and Sanders and most of the Dems running for President. What losers
