Deputy WH Press Sec Slams Democrats for Being ‘Willing Partners’ in Russian Attempts to Divide America

Deputy White House press secretary Hogan Gidley called out Democrats for continuing to push the highly divisive Russian conspiracy narrative, claiming that they are being “willing partners” to the Kremlin in their attempts to divide Americans.

The investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller found that Russians interfered with the 2016 presidential election in an attempt to cause more division in the U.S.

During an interview Wednesday night on Fox News, host Martha MacCallum questioned Gidley on what the White House is doing to help calm the growing division, but Gidley pushed back on the claim that the White House is fully responsible for the discord.

Watch the video below:

MACCALLUM: What are you folks going to do to try to calm things down?

GIDLEY: What are we going to do? What is the media and the people like [New York Times columnist] Paul Krugman going to do? Ninety-three percent of the coverage against this president is negative. They pushed a lie on the American people and said the president was guilty of treason.

MACCALLUM: I understood, but that’s not the question that I asked you. I asked you what the White House — because as you look at this, I think it’s true that if the Russians wanted to sow discord, they must still be laughing all the way because it’s still happening, it’s still happening, right? Despite the findings of the Mueller report.

GIDLEY: That’s because they have willing partners in the Democrat Party and most of the mainstream media.

Gidley claimed the White House has been trying to work with Democrats on unifying issues like infrastructure, but they haven’t had success because the House prioritizes investigations into Trump instead of policy.

“They have done nothing in the first 100 days except push lies onto the American people with no proof and no evidence, and they wanted it to be true so badly that now they have nothing to say,” Gidley said.

He claimed that the Democrats won’t drop the Russian collusion narrative because it would be “admitting that the last two years of their life has been a complete and total waste of time.”
