A letter obtained by CNN Tuesday proves that despite what President Donald Trump and his lawyer Rudy Giuliani said, the president planned to build a Trump tower in Moscow during his presidential campaign.
The letter of intent was first reported on by CNN host Chirs Cuomo who detailed the past denials of such a letter existing by Trump and Giuliani.
“I want you to take a walk down memory lane to remind yourself what President Trump has said about this project,” Cuomo said on his show Tuesday night, showing clips of Trump denying any relations with Russia during his campaign.
“You know for a deal that didn’t mean anything, it’s a lot of pages, man,” Cuomo said, flipping through the 18-page deal, “with a lot of detail about what they wanted and how they wanted it and how it’d be paid and there’s his signature.”
Sure enough, Trump signed the document dated October 28, 2015, four months after he announced his candidacy.
Giuliani said that Trump never signed the document.
“It was a real estate project,” he said. “There was a letter of intent to go forward, but no one signed it.”

Cuomo pointed out that whether or not Trump signed this letter of intent has no legal standing in any current investigation, but “that’s not the point.”
“They’re not preparing for trial, don’t examine it that way,” he said. “They’re preparing for a PR campaign to convince you what they want you to believe. Our job is to help you keep the facts front and center.”
