Tom Homan appeared Monday on Fox Business to discuss President Donald Trumpâs executive actions aimed at tightening border security.
During an appearance on âThe Evening Edit,â Homan shared some of the key details on Trumpâs plan to tighten the border. Homan also said he was disappointed after the media failed to report a disturbing rise in human trafficking. He said there has been a 600% increase in the exploitation of women and children, along with a staggering 3,500% increase in the number of individuals on the terrorist watchlist attempting to enter the United States.
âHeâs going to end catch and release. Heâs going to put a stop to the CBP One app thatâs been abused by people claiming fraudulent claims to asylum,â Homan said when asked to hint on Trumpâs executive orders.
Homan said Trump intends to classify Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations, adding they play a significant role in the narcotics crisis and the deaths of countless Americans.

âThe drug cartels of Mexico killed more Americans than every terrorist organization that were combined,â Homan said. âSo these are a few things heâs going to sign and hats off. Itâs going to be a game-changer on this administration. Weâre going to secure the border at the highest level ever.â
Homan provided an overview of what he said are the border challenges and threats toward the country.
âThe death of aliens across the border is at a historic high, over 4,000 under this administration. We got over a quarter million Americans dead from fentanyl coming across that open border. We got a 600% increase in sex trafficking on women and children. We got a record number of people on the terrorist watchlist. Thereâs a 3,500% increase in the terrorist watchlist,â Homan said.
Homan then recalled what he said was the effectiveness of border policies under Trumpâs first administration.
âWhen President Trump, it was going to be graced on 90%. When 90% less people are coming, how many women werenât being sexually assaulted? How many women and children werenât trafficking? How many Americans didnât die because of border security? They didnât die of fentanyl. Secure borders save lives,â Homan said.
Addressing the mediaâs role, Homan expressed dissatisfaction with the coverage of border security issues.
âAbsolutely not. This network does,â Homan said when asked if he feels like the American media is covering the border issues. âFox does, but most of the media does not. Theyâve been covering the border crisis. Look, not once have they spoken up about this out-of-control border, but theyâll talk about the fentanyl deaths, but they wonât talk about whatâs causing that. Fentanyl deaths are out of control. This has been a hidden story for four years.â
During his inaugural speech in the Capitol Rotunda on Monday, Trump proclaimed a new âgolden ageâ for America, pledging to dismantle the policies of his predecessor, Joe Biden. As he took the oath of office to become the 47th president, Trump said he would elevate the U.S. to unparalleled heights and ensure it becomes the envy of nations worldwide.
Trump said he will issue several executive orders, including ending catch and release, reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy, and declaring a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border.
