Lindsey Graham Slams Mueller Testimony but Explains How It Could ‘Blow Up’ in Democrats’ Faces

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) fired back at Democratic lawmakers for calling on former special counsel Robert Mueller to testify months after his report was released during an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Tuesday.

He claimed that the upcoming testimony is pointless due to the likelihood that Mueller’s answers to questions will remain unchanged.

“Bottom line is, after all of your looking and all the time you had and all the money you spent, did Trump collude with the Russians? No – Do you stand by your report? – Yes,” Graham said.

Graham claimed that Democrats are doing more harm than good with the new round of testimonies:

“It is ‘case-closed’ for me. They can do anything they want to in the House, and I think it will blow up in their face. It will blow up in their face. This will blow up in their face. The conclusions can’t change, there is no collusion, that’s what the whole damn thing was about to begin with.”

He went on to give his support to the president, saying that he has cooperated fully with the Russia investigation.

“The president gave 1.4 million documents to Mueller. [Don] McGahn, his lawyer, testified for 30 hours,” Graham said.

“He made everybody available to Mueller that Mueller wanted to talk to, and he … answered questions in writing, so this president did nothing to stop Mueller from finding the truth,” he added.

However, Reps. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) released a statement explaining what they hoped to gain from the hearing:

Americans have demanded to hear directly from the Special Counsel so they can understand what he and his team examined, uncovered, and determined about Russia’s attack on our democracy, the Trump campaign’s acceptance and use of that help, and President Trump and his associates’ obstruction of the investigation into that attack.

Graham slammed the suggestion that lawmakers would find a way to impeach Trump, saying that it was impossible based on the current facts in the report.

“There’s nobody on Earth who could bring an obstruction case based on these facts,” Graham said.

I’m still waiting to hear what Trump campaign officials and Trump family members claim to have discussed in over a hundred contacts with Russian military intelligence officers.

People push back for two reasons: they’re innocent or they’re guilty. If they’re innocent, any evidence that supports their innocence ought to be allowed to be presented. Certainly, they would allow former associates to testify to their innocence. If they’re guilty, then they cry like hell that they’re being persecuted, and refuse to let any damaging evidence be presented. Certainly, they would not allow former associates to testify as to their malfeasance. If anyone thinks that what’s happening now, in Congress, is unfair to the POTUS, then ask yourself why he is fighting all the subpoenas. Hell, I can ‘t,… Read more »

Maybe once Nadler gets done with HIS version of the Trump/Russia Collusion matter, someone will remind him what he should be doing for the American citizen. Right now, I doubt he has a clue what he’s being over paid to do.
