Graham Responds to Kavanaugh Impeachment Calls: ‘When You Think You’ve Hit Bottom, You Really Haven’t’

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) responded to calls from Democrats to impeach Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh after a shakey report in The New York Times outlined an alleged sexual assault.

As IJR previously reported, the Times published a story outlining a previously unknown sexual assault allegation against Justice Kavanaugh — who’s nomination process was rocked when Dr. Christine Blasey Ford accused him of assaulting her in high school.

Shortly after publishing the story, the Times issued an editors note mentioning that the alleged victim of the story had no recollection of such an event ever happening, greatly damaging the credibility of the story.

Still, many Democrats, including “squad” member Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) believe he should be impeached in response to the report and have taken steps to move forward with the process.

In an interview with Fox News, Graham told host Sean Hannity that he believes Democrats have hit a new “bottom” in their attempts to take down President Donald Trump and his appointees.

Watch Graham’s comments below:

“When you think you’ve hit bottom, you really haven’t when it comes to Trump. It’s not really news that The New York Times did a sloppy job reporting about Trump and Kavanaugh because they’re so biased, but what is news to me is two United States senators running for president have called for Kavanaugh’s impeachment based on an article from The New York Times that’s bogus. And a member of the House has introduced an impeachment resolution of Judge Kavanaugh based on an erroneous, scurrilous New York Times story. So here’s what I want you to know. Any impeachment of Judge Kavanaugh based on The New York Times story is dead on arrival in the Senate. Any impeachment of Trump based on the Mueller report is dead on arrival in the United States Senate.”

Graham was one of Kavanaugh’s fiercest defenders during his nomination, as IJR reported at the time.

I've noticed recently you're receiving an occasional down vote on what I believe are your solid arguments. Yet, the cowards who vote DOWN never present their reasons for objecting to your comments. Of course I would expect the coward may be a frequent Socialist (or Fascist) visitor to the IJR site which "is so screwed up", so no further comments need to be made. Some who always claim to be "confused" are simply "rock cold ignorant".

I’m waiting until the tide reverses and a Dim is brought up on false, unprovable accusations. They’ll no doubt invoke due process and “innocent until proven guilty”. Hypocrites.

Other signs they have NO shame. The attempt to revive Al Franken’s career. The latest Hollywood award to Roman Polanski.

GUILTY until proven innocent by the population of New York City – – IF you’re a Republican or voted for Trump. Innocent, no investigation needed according to the ruling of a drunken bar maid – – IF you’re a DemocRAT or voted for Hillary. #TwoTierSystem.
