Jamie Harrison is sharing what he would say if President-elect Joe Biden called him about the Democratic National Committee (DNC) chair position.

MSNBC ā€œMorning Joeā€ co-anchor Willie Geist noted that DNC chair Tom Perez is expected to step away from the role in February.

Asked if the DNC chair would be a job he would be interested in, Harrison told Geist that it is ā€œup toā€ Biden to select who should take the role. However, he added, ā€œIf the President-elect calls my number, then I’m getting into the game.ā€

ā€œIt’s something that I’m interested in,ā€ Harrison continued. ā€œI think I could serve a good job at because I understand the DNC, I understand state parties, and now I have the understanding of what it is to be a candidate for office.ā€

ā€œIf my number gets called, I will definitely step onto the field.ā€
