A frightening medical emergency earlier this year has left actor Quinton Aaron convinced he experienced something far beyond the physical.
Best known for portraying Michael Oher in the film The Blind Side, Aaron says a near-fatal health crisis in January brought him face-to-face with what he believes was a divine encounter, per Fox News.
The actor was hospitalized after suffering a severe blood infection that led to a stroke. Doctors placed him on life support for four days as his condition worsened.
During that time, Aaron said he “coded” multiple times — meaning he went into medical distress and had to be revived by hospital staff.
“At the time, I didn’t know that’s what happened, but it made sense as I was told that that was what had happened because I saw Jesus,” Aaron told TMZ.
Aaron described the experience in vivid detail, saying he saw a figure he identified as Jesus standing beside him.
According to Aaron, the figure had long white hair, wore a white robe, and had skin “a little lighter than mine,” with a “golden glow” surrounding him.
The encounter, he said, felt physical.
“He appeared in front of me and placed his hands on my back exactly where the pain was. ‘Til this day, I can still feel his hands as if they’re there,” Aaron said.
He recalled that the pain he had been experiencing disappeared in that moment.
Later, doctors informed him he would not need surgery — something he believes was directly connected to what he experienced.
“This made it like it increased my faith, I would say, because when I found out that I coded, that made so much sense to me because it was like instead of it feeling like just a vision, it was like, no, you died… And God, you know, brought me back. Like, he placed his hands on me and I came back,” he said. “So, it feels like I was given a second chance.”
The ordeal, he added, has changed how he views his life moving forward, leaving him with a sense that he still has “more to do.”
Aaron has previously spoken about earlier health struggles, including a 2021 incident that led to a major turning point.
He said he passed out near a waterfront and later learned he had been suffering from diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious condition caused by extremely high blood sugar.
“I was in diabetic ketoacidosis,” he said. “The blood becomes acidic, and your organs start to shut down. So that’s why God was like, ‘Do you want to die?’ And I’m like, ‘No.’ Because I was on the way.”
After that episode, Aaron said he lost more than 200 pounds — a transformation he has described as part of a broader personal and spiritual shift.
Now, following his latest health scare, he says the experience has only deepened his faith and reinforced his belief that his life was spared for a reason.
