On Friday, Democratic National Committee Vice Chair Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) spoke at the Progressive Change Campaign Committee's National Candidate Training and had some bold words for the audience when he took the stage.
“Did you know that in Missouri and in Texas and maybe other places, maternal mortality has risen?” he asked the audience.
“Women are dying because we are losing elections. We don't have the right to lose a damn election. We have to win. We have to win.”
Ellison was also on the hot seat after he tweeted out a picture of acting Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Mick Mulvaney's office and said that Mulvaney claims he's “Mr. Transparency” but has frosted glass on the walls in his building.
“How is that transparent?” Ellison asked his followers.
Mick Mulvaney touts himself as Mr. Transparency. But today when I showed him this picture, he admitted it was his office at CFPB and that he’d had the glass walls in the building frosted like this. How is that transparent? pic.twitter.com/XJjJYvVQSG

Thousands of people responded accordingly:
Next thing you know, this monster will be installing doors in bathrooms or putting up blinds to literally block the sunshine. His desire for darkness will never be quenched. https://t.co/ec7JV6rSv8

Later, Mr. Mulvaney claimed to me he had a turkey wrap for lunch. But the wrap concealed the meat so no one can confirm that. And yet he calls himself transparent. https://t.co/AIaDWVErQn

I looked at his timeline hoping to find a reply where he said this was an attempt at a joke. No such reply exists... https://t.co/X3ywB0zndR
