Jake Tapper Compares White House’s Drama to ‘Melrose Place’

Recent events surrounding the White House, CNN anchor Jake Tapper suggested, resembled a soap opera.

During his Thursday broadcast of “The Lead,” Tapper compared the compounding effect of that day’s drama to 1990s soap opera, “Melrose Place.”

After playing a clip of White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders refusing to directly answer whether President Donald Trump had confidence in Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, Tapper said the following:

“This comes after so much drama in the White House today, one might be tempted to compare it to ‘Game of Thrones,’ but in some ways it’s more like Pennsylvania Avenue becoming ‘Melrose Place.'”

Tapper then launched into an overview of controversy surrounding whether White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci had identified Priebus as someone that leaked White House secrets.
