James Comey Breaks His Silence on FBI Informant and Takes Direct Shots at Trump and Republicans

In response to President Donald Trump claiming the FBI used an informant to spy on his campaign during the 2016 presidential election, former FBI Director James Comey broke his silence on the matter and said the continued attacks will have “lasting damage to our country”:

Comey added how it was a “dangerous time” since the United States is being “led by those who will lie about anything”:

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has also accused Trump of conducting an “assault” on the Justice Department when he called for it to open an investigation into the matter.

“I think that’s a[n] actually very disturbing assault on the independence of the Department of Justice,” Clapper told CNN host Chris Cuomo.

“They use informants and have strict rules and protocols under this. But the big thing here is this is not about spying on his campaign. It’s about what the Russians are doing,” he added.
